Was in the ER today and my nurse told me she'd do what she could to get me out by 4:20. Gotta love Boulder!

I don't smoke. I don't do "Mary Jane."

However, Hemp is an incredibly useful natural herb for many applications: medicine, products of all kinds, great for paper, clothing, rope, etc. etc. etc.

It is a wonderful natural plant provided by GOD for man to use. Not to get stoned, but to help people with their illnesses, and to make great natural products.

So why is "the man" so bent on tooling those who would use a natural flora that is so useful that GOD provided for mankind's (our) use?

Something is seriously, seriously wrong there.

I've been seeing this "420" day stuff around today and had no idea what it was. ST is such a fount of information.

(I was going to say useful information but this may fall under the category of useless information).

Wish I could take credit for that, but I ripped it from someone here at ST a loooong time ago.

Hilarious, ain't it? My favorite part is where Thor passes out, flies through the air, and rides a chicken...yowza!

I meant to do this the day after 420 but the other stuff happened and I didn't get around to it and then forgot about it.

Hemp...applications: medicine, products of all kinds, great for paper, clothing, rope, etc.

"As a cheeky sixteen-year-old, I thought little of the significance of this first Yosemite climb [Lunch Ledge]; I was out for difficulty and summits and glory. Later, when I had read more about the old-timers, I would sometimes climb to the ledge alone and try to imagine what they had felt as they climbed with their half-inch hemp ropes and their crepe-rubber-soled shoes. Thinking about doing a body rappel on five-sixteenth-inch hemp, I could almost feel its bristly texture sawing my body in half."
-Good Old Steve

Anyone ever actually get to do a rap or an "ab" (chee!) on the above-mentioned kind of rope, or have a pair
of those shoes we could gander at while passing a bong?
Photos of Steve burning one on Lunch are available on request. NOT.

I went to my neighbor's house this weekend to chat. He came out reeking. Said he had the flu for ten days. Do you think just maybe weed compromised his immune system?

People who smoke weed can not think in a proper sequence. They are confused and make irrational choices. They forget important details that are necessary to make proper decisions.

They are not happy. They are just drugged. You will not find happiness at the end of a pipe anymore than you will find it in a bottle.

The worst part is that weed has such a grip on their minds that they can not perceive how screwed up their minds are. It is very sneaky snake squirming into their heads through their mouths.

I don't mind if it is legal. It is better than alchohol. And I will accept that it can help people with serious medical problems. But don't expect me to think of it is anything but debilitating for the vast majority of users.

Think you can quit for a year? I bet you can't. You will be full of excuses. It is strong. You have become weak. You are a slave to it. You are wasting your life but you are too confused to understand this.

OOh, look out, Louella! Sounds like a preacher. Wants to take our money.

So I don't take your bet, simply because it's foolish. I don't need to prove or disprove a thing you say.

But I do want you to know that I love getting ripped. I learned a long time ago that it is more fun to do my stoning intermittently.

A prolonged period of abstinence makes the high higher, but I know I am not going to remain that way, that I am going to be straight.

I get things done and it's sometimes several weeks between tokes. I never refuse a friendly offer, unless there happens to be some thing needs doing.

My given name means, according to one source I just looked at, "high, noble." Well, that may be, but my mom claimed "strong in virtue."

It may seem like a schizophrenic way to live, but the straight life can be so boring, why not get high? You probably have tried it. If not, why not?

Ciao, 5.9,(your servant) Mouse

And for the rest of you, some edumacation on foreign substances.

I ran into this passage reading The Place of the Skull, a novel from a Khirgiz named C. Aitmatov, a not-pretty story of animal slaughter on the steppes.

"I was during this period that Avidiy travelled for the first
time to Central Asia on behalf of that local Komsomol newspaper.
The immediate reason for the triip was Avidiy's idea of researching
and writing about the ways and means by which the narcotic anasha
hashish was finding its way into the lives of young peoplein the
European part of the country. Anasha is a plant which grows in
Central Asia, in the steppes around the Chui and Moyun-Kum deserts.
It is closely related to the famous marijuana, a particular type
of wild hemp whose leaves, flower-clusters and especially pollen
contain fast-acting intoxicating substances. When smoked, these
produce euphoria and the illusion of well-being. Increasing the dose
brings on a phase of depression and later on of aggression--a loss of
control that is dangerous for other people." page 38

Wow, epic fail.

That's just a stupid assessment. Do you think that pot smokers are stoned all day, every day?

I'm sorry, was my sequencing off in telling you that your assumptions are faulty?

Perhaps I made an irrational choice in writing this, but who cares, because I'm not stoned. Too much other sh#t to do today.

Edit; I went from a regular smoker to a non-smoker with no distress. I stopped, without exception, for four years. No worries, no problems. Your statements are broad and generalizing. Next time, think things through before you write.
