My 165 pound ass used to be a bouncer so I just submitted him to eat playa to protect my wife.
Where were you a bouncer, kindergarten, or a rock climbing gym for high-level climbers?
In the real world, 165 #s ain't even close to big, ain't even really that close to average size.

Hey I'm not a Boulder hippie idiot--I'm not a hippie!
No I don't love litter and hopefully the BM people clean up the garbage for the most part, and the money they spend probably pays others to do the rest (that's kind of the American way).
If crap is really falling off their cars, they should be ticketed, but I may guess you're exaggerating a bit?

I distrust everything Chief writes.

But, if it's true, it's someone setting a bad example for the tens of thousands of people who take care of their garbage, lives, etc...basically people who live responsibly.

Strong work singling out the negative when there is so much positive.

Pretty much sums you up.

I dont care what you are or arent. You have no frame of reference here.

The money they spend doesnt go to all the right places, very little does. Most people dont know what is falling off their garbage scow until they get to the playyyayaaaya and stuffs just missing.

They clean up the site as best they can, but there is a lot of ground between where they came from and the precious playa that is dotted with flotsam and jetsam so to speak.

When you live close to where this BS happens, you see more. When you visit it from far away, you dont as much. Its just how it is. Everyone funnels through our town to get there from sac and the bay and many other major places. Nobody is here long enough to see what a mess theyre making, and others just have their heads too firmly lodged up their asses to see.

Exaggeration? I wish. Ive been seeing this crap for almost 20 years now. Same sh#t, larger scale every year. The more experienced at it probably do a better job, but there are far too many who dont know or dont care or what have you that leave a trail of 'art' in their wake....at the roadside, in the bushes, in donner lake as they bathe all that dust off, etc.....the overflowing garbage dumpster flower comes to mind....just keep piling that sh#t on there in windy old Reno. Half of it will blow to the playa faster than you can drive there.

Not sure why there is all the Burner hate. Burners, hippies, crusties are all dirtbags.

Climbers, especially trads, are dirtbags.

Camp 4 has dirty people too that are living their dream away from society in a tent or van. They are just a lot fitter than your average hipster/trustafarian.

There is nothing inherently better in any type or style of climbing that is better for the world than twirling around in the desert, half dressed, on acid.

...and I would bet your average Burner gets laid a lot more than your average dirtbag climber.

I favor dirtbags no more than hippies or burner people. They are all about the same burdens with senses of entitlement in my book. I do not care for the uber-chic how-cool-is-it-Im-a-dirtbag-OMG -PBR!

Trads? Jeez....

So, let me see if I get this-
climbers, who spend many of their weekends enjoying an activity laden with dirt, poverty, and ethical shitfits hating on burners, who spend one week outa the year laden with dirt, poverty, and ethical shitfits on the playa?

Precisely, bingo.....you got it! One week a year is just for pretend. Again.....you're overusing the word hate regarding this issue.

You dont have to be huge to be a bouncer
I was a bouncer at a club in Missouri that held 6-800 people on the weekends. So it wasn't kindergarten. Most drunks are easily submitted with simple moves. Did have a chair smashed over my back, and multiple takedowns of guys twice my size. Never threw a punch.....it just pisses them off.

Edit

Keep bagging on a place and an event you have never been to.
Just makes you look like a f*#king idiot. Most people who go out there are great. Some are as#@&%es. Just like every time I go to a crag. Some climbers are cool. Some are complete as#@&%es.
Same as going to any event.........most concerts you go to it takes 5 minutes before some drunken as#@&%e is fighting, puking, or just being an as#@&%e.

nah, look- it,s easier to spell hate than to fully explain the type of disdain and all its subtleties on the stupid phone. further, in recognition that the thread was not started as a hate thread, i,ll voice a desire to go and check it out at least once if the opportunity arises.
not that it matters, but i,d probably mislabel as hate whatever classification y,all may bestow upon me as well with such a short tumultuous history here.
B.M is interesting. so far the only problem i,ve had with them is last saturday when they bought all the dam organic string cheese at trader joes and i was forced to settle for light. vs full fat. meh.

Grammar is the set of structural rules that governs the composition of clauses, phrases and words in any given natural languange. I was refering to the "meaning" of the word hate as so often used by you geniuses on ST. It seems that anytime someone disagrees or has a negative opinion about a thread the word hate is immediately invoked.
Given that.....what to do when a description of an activity or event really could use the word hate? The strength of the word has already evaporated from misuse and overuse.

Anybody ever see the commercial for "visit Utah" that had the car with all the toys tied to the roof?

It wasn't on the air very long before somebody pointed out to the tourism bureau that it promoted behavior that led to road debris and serious accidents.

Oops.

I hope that the bonehead executive that came up with the idea got shltcanned.
