Where the Hoback and the mighty Snake River meet
Jan 12, 2013 - 11:06am PT
Dean, you haven't skinned up there yet? (Surprised)

I probably would not, unless I could hook up with Eric or something. I'm friends with too many people involved.

Besides, there is a skin track going up through the steep trees, I would probably do that. (Still need new boots though)

I think it might be colder there than in WY right now.

No, I have not, Julia...not skiing this winter. :(

The ski area has been driving a cat up the road, so the access is pretty easy.

One of the colder days we've seen in a long time.

We had a high of 23F, but it certainly didn't stay there long...and already at 4:45, we are down to 12F.

Low this morning was -8F. I battled some ice in the fuel lines in the Worm this morning.....thankfully, I was able to get it in the garage to deal with it.

It hit minus 20 degrees in the meadows last night. Suppose to hit minus 22 tonight up there.

Brrrrrrr...

Inside my house was 34 this morning. The water line to my toilet froze.

It's 10F here. . . usually this is the time of year we're THIRTY BELOW. . . how weird is that!

Downright balmy, by comparison!

Forecast to be -20 F or colder here tonight in Bridgeport, and as it so cold already before 8 pm, I am betting colder. 70 degrees here in my office, so a differential of 81 degrees from one side of the wall to the other...

ba da bumm..

I went to school for a short time in Arkansas. It was 70 in the morning and muggy when I went to class. The day before it had hit 80 degrees, so I wore shorts and sandals. I hadn't seen a weather report. When I left class 6 hours later it was 18 degrees and blowing a blizzard.

I had walked to school. haha..

that was a cold run home with the wind chill.

One time Blanchard and I had been down in LA and we got home when it was -31F. . . we had left the forced air on, so it wasn't that cold in the house. . . immediately upon stepping inside, we built a fire. . . and the temperature differential was so intense, it broke one of our third story cathedral windows. . . one of the big ones. . . there was this little POP then the sound a glass cutter makes as the crack went from bottom to top.

YIKES!

Only one pane (of dual glazed) broke. . . but. . . it had to be replaced.

WHAT A MESS!

And. . . get this. . . it happened again 3 years ago. The place was winterized, I was in Shasta and he came up to get some stuff and spent the night. . . BUTT COLD, again. . . same scenerio. . . POP. . .zzzzzzzzzzzz.

PISS!
