-5 deg F in Hilton crk this am ..... looks like another day enjoying the fluff edit : still -4 at 9;00am heard about a post control release on mmsa, still sticking to protected tree slopes.......just sayin'

Yesterday was sticky as hell out on Fish Slough.Definite winter bouldering though.Headin' for the ice today,not LV though.The crowds there drive me batsh!t crazy and today is gonna be CROWDED.

Hey cragman, any info on hiking June now that it is closed? wondered if they are stopping /hasseling folks for hiking , I know Carson (on the face) could have some substantial avi danger. Are they controlling the face even though it is closed? Thanks for any info...... Howard sez maybe some lake-effect .... oh yea

It sucks here even more! Big snows with big xmas and new years crowds. F-ing barneys everywhere, cant even get gas or go to the grocery without several hours disappearing.....one more day and skipping town! Bring the ice and bring owens.
Anyone gotten a visual on owens amongst all this pukery? I figure temps are low but wondered what the precip did.

that happened to me last night Ron. Snowing with no radar return. There are lots of variables with radar. Where it is.. how sensitive it is. Its a conspiracy to make you think the sun is shining. Try this one.. use the arrows to move the screen to where you are. Its government though, so it will probably hide the chemtrails. haha

It is cold out there! They don't call this place Fridgeport for nothing, it is -9 degrees F at 10 am this morning, with a forecast high of 12. We need some more storms to blow out this inversion. The low last night was around -15.

Hey Crag,what's goin' on up there this morning?Is it snowin' yet? Blowin'? Fifteen years living here and I've never climbed Horsetail.Partner and I are tossin' the idea around.But my partner and I are lazy and cheap ;-).Don't really feel like havin' to chain up the front wheel drive(if it goes R2/3)and the four by costs a billion dollars to fuel.Don't get me wrong,we'll do either just don't really want to get up there only to discover 55mph wind.Also,football,pellet stove and beer are enough incentive to keep us home :-).Just wondering what yer seeing.Thanx.

I thought the skinny was no skiing at June, something about liability or something. Is the mountain open (in the sense of not being patrolled for trespassing, not in the sense that they condone it) for those of us willing to hike/skin up?

Is a Nevada low the same as a Tonopah low? I've beem screwed by hard, cold, east winds on the crest when a Tonopah low blew in. Lift your well staked tent sort of fierce winds.

Just saying that "Eastside" is a flexible term based on the elevation and WX conditions.
I love my self-loathing self.
