Disclaimer....The following can easily be wrong information, but with all the beer in Germany, it's a wonder I can remember anything at all.

Intrepid manila man is - if memory serves well - going up and right, stepping over to the big black knob and exiting via some wild, somewhat overhanging chickenwinging/shoulderchimneying.

I believe a single ring protects, but there are 'gud' knot-placements to be found. Which were probably not used on the FA, because they just didn't have that sort of rope.

Thanks John, for the link to your site! I really love these old photos and even more, the climbers who really had a set of stones!
