Unreported Rock
As Doug and I are old and creaky and Helga had not touched stone in eight years, a short spree of mellow third class was in order:
Doug led the way around the corner out of view,
Unlocking a cute little fifth class step across over sudden exposure, requiring steady nerves and deliberate footwork.

Upon returning to the base we watched as Dave and Marge's son, Jake I believe, was edging upward:

Next up, time for some moderate hand, foot and rope work:
Note the perennial MOAC sprouting from the rack:

After such a nonchalant performance, there was only one thing we could do:
And that was to follow Dougie right on up to the summit:

Good stuff, Roy!
That shot of Helga marching towards the rock is classic J-tree. Not because she is a hot chick, but because it reminds me of the awesomeness of marching out into the desert toward adventure climbs.
F*#king classic!
DR is a classic too! Roy, do we need to pitch in for a harness for you, hehe!
Way to roll 'old-school'.

I couldn't agree more Bluey.
I'm glad to know you're enjoying the travel log too.
Even got kudos from Dingus up the thread for my word noodlings.
That's nice for me, considering what terrific writing he has shared with us over the years.

Ha Ha.
Just wasn't enough room in my carry-on luggage, after stowing my cowboy boots that is ... I'm sure you understand.
A man has to have priorities.

Heh.
I got lost because Todd and I had one of those discussions:
(for which no one is to blame -typical goofiness is all)
"so point it out to me"
"straight that a-way, ... see it?"
"You mean that big crag to the right of the high point on the skyline with the leaning chimney that slants to the right"
"yup"
"okay, ... see you there"
No biggy, really.
We had a nice walk.

Nice shots too! (Route names...hint, hint......)
Looks like cool stuff.
EDIT: I do the same thing when I have to have 'warmer' beers. Take Guiness. Drinks good cold and warmer (room temp.)

Oh yes, that route on Intersection Rock is called The Bat Face.
Helga used to solo it in the morning when I went off to work guiding.
I was slightly gripped doing the big 5.0+ run out on the last pitch to get to the bolt.
Too funny.
This was the first day we'd had climbing together in 22 years.
The summit pictures from back then look pretty much the same.
