Funny that someone would post a pic of Val "cheating" his way up the rivet ladders of Tempest. Although his reach exceeds mine by at least 8", I never had to cheat stick the rivets on Tempest. Val was using conventional aiders, and I was using Russian aiders.

I did use the hammer to extend my reach on one pitch --
Bad Ass Gerberding had one way-out-of-reach hook move that, even with the russkies, needed the hammer's extra few inches. Cheating? Yes. And No.
