Who smelled overtime?

31 all. What fun. What comedy.

Highest combined score in any NFL championship fourth quarter.

I just don't understand why the game is over if the first team to have possession of the ball scores a touchdown in overtime. Why doesn't the other team get a chance to score?

could not agree more, that just not seem a fair way to decide an entire season

both teams should get at least one possession until someone scores

I think its a hold over from sudden death OT. They didn't want to completely do away with Sudden death. So they give this one opportunity. Still seems screwy to me.

Chiefs lose game on a coin flip.

After that scoring explosion in the fourth quarter, anyone think that either offense was going to be stopped?

In a game that goes to overtime, you can always point to specific plays. But if that KC player hadn't lined up offside, the game is over with the interception with 50 seconds left.

Going to be a long off season for him.

I agree with what August West said. That game was 99% in KC's pocket till he made that motherfkn booboo.

Very little about the coin toss system is fair. It's the best they got, though.

You gotta live with that, just like you get bad non-calls and bad calls from the motherfkn zebras.

I don't know about that. I think you should be willing to try and improve the rules. The original OT rules were sudden death, including a field goal. They decided that gave the coin toss winner too big of advantage and decided only a TD would be an automatic win on the first drive.

My suggestion is to get rid of the kickoff and the coin toss loser choose a starting field position (and direction for the offense) and the coin toss winner then getting to decide to start on offense or defense.

So KC losing the coin toss might have chosen the 10 yard line with the offense going against the wind (if there was still any left by then). The Pats could then start on the 10 on offense or have KC start at the 10 on offense.

If my rules were in place, and KC had chosen the 1 yard line, I wonder if the Pats would have still chosen offense? If they would have, that really shows just how big of an advantage the coin toss winner is getting under the current system. And it would have evened it up some by making them go 99 yards. And also, a safety would win it for the defense.

Assuming the Pats weren't willing to start on offense at the 1, then KC would have an opportunity for Mahomes to have his chance by choosing a bad enough starting field position.

I haven't researched it, but a co-worker tells me that the coin toss winner only wins a little over 50% of the overtimes. But the league is more offensive dominated than it used to be. First time in playoff history that the top four offenses all made the conference championship round.

So I think the best they got can be improved on.

Is the NFL rigged?

The penalty calls (or lack thereof) to get the pats and lambs to the bowl were questionable.

Lambs and Pats give a greater market than the Saints/Chiefs.

I could care less about the Pats and Lambs. Would have rather see the Saints/Chiefs in the bowl/

Just thinking out loud.
