Roger, you had better hope the ring gets found otherwise you are in deep trouble. Some day I will have to buy wife a diamond for her to wear around her finger. When we got engaged she said I had to buy her a shiny ring - I got her a shiny ring but her Mom gave her the sparkly part that belong to her great grandmother. I did buy her diamond ear rings to wear for our wedding.

She has several sparkly things, all of which are fitting. (I am very old school.)
I have to think that this is just re-understanding of the inner collective noun of “Best Friend.” Apparently you can never have too many or too much Best Friend. Maybe it is British usage.

hey Roger,
sorry to hear you lost the ring, I've been in the high mts. lately but will check out
the area around Manure Pile when I get back to the Valley. Hopefully with Jo putting
the word out to the other YMS guides it'll be found soon.
It was good to see you and the others in the Valley recently, some good history in
the Old Guys Camp.

Thanks for all the pre-finding-Waldo support, everyone. I am okay with getting my ring back (the only jewelry I own) and getting a new sparkly one for M if that is what she wants.

I will keep everyone posted when Waldo's message comes through.

I have not heard from Waldo (Max). It is making me a little nervous, but I figure that he is having a good time climbing somewhere, and I won't hear from him until he gets back to his home in Maine (I think). And, in any case, it might not be my ring. Still hopeful. Still finger the empty space with my thumb. Keep hopeful for me Neebee.
Hey Fats, the CZ stones are so good that I can only guess which is real by the size and the wearer’s circumstances. A real diamond with the clarity and color of a CZ stone would be about $10K for the first caret. I have seen some CZ stones adorning fingers that would be $50K if they were real. M has a few CZ pieces that are near copies of real pieces; she wears them when she travels.

hey there say... oh my... roger, still am praying and hoping... you know, in life, sometimes the oddest things happen, and in perfect timing, and we are amazed... it sure does teach us to not give up, when praying...
but too, on the other hand, there are times when new things happen to make good, as a loss along the way, and even then, the biggest blessing are hidden at these points---somehow, beyond our previous dreams, though, we see a new treasure...
our little nook on the shelf of our heart, never forgets the whole ordeal though, each little milestone marker in our life, is precious...
dear lord, oh my... i am sure hoping this will be a "finder" though...
then, you will enjoy the amazement... and that, alone, surely is a treasure worth having (even if we miss the newer treasure, as, it will still be there for us, in other ways, down the line)...
god bless... very glad this was bumped up...
you and your wife, are not forgotten...
nor, your wonderful vows...

With the price of gold today, you might be able to make a claim on your insurance. Depends on if the policy covers replacement cost of your personal items and if jewelry needs to be listed.

I used to play pickup soccer every Sunday morning. One morning after the game was over I noticed my wedding ring was gone. It was a hot summer morning and I had lost a lot of fluid running around so I knew it had just come off my dried out finger. I looked out over the 60 yard by 110 yard field and realized I was never going to find it. I was pretty tired too so it was a bit of a downer. Well a couple of years later I went skiing on a really snowy weekend. We were staying in a lodge near Donner Pass. Because of the weather I had taken my tall snow boots for stomping through the deep snow to the lodge, which was maybe 70 yards from the road. When we got to the lodge and I took off my boots the ring fell out of one of them! Ha ha. We had gone out for dinner the night before I played soccer. When I took off my coat and hung it in the closet the ring must have come off my finger and fallen into my boot, which I keep in the front coat closet. So Roger, there is till plenty of time to find your ring. Good luck!

hey there say, zander... man oh man, what a thing to happen, and wait through... wow, what a story! thanks for the share...
*had that happen with the ol' door key, though it did not fall into boots... and i near thought i'd locked the grandkids and me out of the house... *though not for years, ;)
we found them, later, after backtracking all over the place... they had simply fallen into a crack in the car seat... :O
