Good luck, Roger, sounds like there is a good lead on it!
I have one sitting in 40' of water at Edison Lake...never found it. One for the Gollum. (Funny, because at the time I was joking about that)
I usually clip mine to a biner now. Harder to lose. Either clip the biner in the pack or on the back of your harness.

Send that bird east, Werner. Have her (it has got to be a her, right) drop the ring on the south shore of the 4th lake after the last mountain. I will keep an eye out.

Maybe because it's not ours, eh?
Checked Bishop's Terrace, Manure Pile and Knob Hill areas, and the parking areas and approach trails, fairly thoroughly this afternoon. A rainy, cold afternoon. No luck, but did find a bunch of pull tabs and bottle caps, saw some retreats after sucker holes enticed the unwary to start climbing, visited Tom E, ran into friends. Hopefully "Max" can be found and provide more information as to the ring he found.
The Mountain Project post was for a ring found May 1st.
More information sent to Roger by PM. On my way home tomorrow, so hoping the ring will turn up.

I got a feeling it's going to turn up. Just a hunch.
You know, even if not, this could be like one of my favorite scenes from Harold and Maude. Harold gets Maude a cheap ring and gives it to her on a bridge over a river. Even though it came from something like a cracker jack box, it's a quite touching and meaningful gesture. She takes the ring and says, "Oh my, that is so kind and wonderful!" Then she pitches it into the river. Harold, of course, has a look of shock and confusion. Then she says, "Now we'll always know where it is."
If you're gonna lose a ring, the valley is a pretty good place to know that it'll always be there!

Thanks for all the effort Anders. I am sorry that the weather was so crummy on this trip to the Valley.
Denise Umstot is channelling Frodo and feeling very confident that Waldo will be found soon.

I really hope you find the ring.
Not a bad place to lose it if you don't. Much better than down the bathtub drain like happened to me Mum.

I used to hang my diamond ring on a cord around my neck when climbing. I topped out, and it was gone. I searched the top of the cliff, the bottom of the cliff, every climb, scoured the cracks and ledges. I gave up. I packed my gear to go home and took off my harness. It was trapped between my harness and body. It could be in your laundry, your pack, ...This same ring was lost in my house at party. It turned up years later when I opened a jar.
It may turn up yet.

Denise and Matty think that Max has my ring. Max has done a Waldo at JT. Everyone is waiting for him to recover his link to the waiting world. I remain hopeful. I still adjust it on my finger with my thumb and little finger.

That disgusting finger picture is why I stopped wearing mine climbing. I had it catch on ironman traverse (buttermilks) and thought that was going to happen.
I started wearing it on chain around my neck but stopped after Lord of the Rings came out. Too many Frodo jokes.
Now it stays home on climbing trips.

No word yet from Max.
However, M and I had dinner with our daughter last night and I told her about losing my ring and the efforts of fellow ST campers to track down Waldo. During the short pause after I had finished my story, M said that if it wasn't returned I would have to buy a new one and...she would also have to get a new one. I looked over at her and she added: "...a more sparkly one."
So, where is Waldo?
