Ghost, let me get this right:

On the BC coast and ya gotta take TWO ferries to get there.
Got Orcas frolicking in your front yard.
Got untapped climbing potential in your backyard.
Got a Belgian Brewmaster.
Got no daily grind cause you're retiring.

Woohoooo! I think you hit TRIPLE CHERRIES on the slot machine of life!

Used to have a place at Madeira Park. While only halfway to Powell it was waterfront and mega. Anything from there north would do me nicely.

Did everyone get on the wagon? So how many Trappistes ales does it take to numb a broken arm? OK, it isn’t broken, but it was close! So I say 2 Tylenols and 3 Trappistes. Yeah, I’m lite.

1.Second glass of red.

2. PTPP can drink a milkshake through his diastima.

3. Worked from digging holes, setting rebar & poles, then mixing & pouring concrete to fill. All for a slack-line in the back yard.

I wish! But I don’t wanna be accused of no Aqualung thang. I was resurrecting an old POS adjustable work bench. It got stuck and I forgot its nasty temper and the 200 lb top came down on my forearm. 😐

Les Trappistes seem to be working. I don’t think I’ll need to resort to Norco and Tanqueray.

1. 3/4 or more of a bottle of Petite Sirah because my lightweight girlfriend who is dieting won't join me

2. Blublocker is a weenie because he won't phone me back, and his iguana is much smaller than mine

3. I am bulking up for the wall, and if you don't believe me, wait until you see the photos next week of me and Anita 514 from Chianti, Italy

Can we make 4000 posts tonight?

Let me ask something important: "What is mind?"

Please.. Tell me. I have not cricked on that post. Even once.

I said cricked. I sound Korean. North or South? Kim or Moon? Who's your favourite? I rikey rikey Kim. Not so bad after arr?

Ghost! Powell River may well be retirement heaven to you, but we both know in that marine climate, you won't be growing asparagus. On the other hand, Heidi & I can't grow blueberries here.

It hit 93 f. today in Choss Creek, but I didn't get around to photographing the temp until 6:00 PM, when it had fallen to 91 f.

I had a full afternoon of pulling weeds & setting sprinklers & did well in the warm. Unfortunately, I distracted Heidi yesterday while she was on some steps & after addressing my question, she promptly pitched off the lowest step, sprained both ankles, & has since been both wounded & somewhat grouchy. It didn't help things that yesterday was also her 64th birthday.

So------she now accepts her injury & her ogre husband, and we cooperated on sauteed asparagus with garlic, thin-cut & pounded pork chops picata, & grilled Naan-bread, with a fine Spanish Rioja for wine.

After dinner, we enjoyed the outdoors on our front porch. It's the first evening in 2018, that we were actually warm out there.

Come on come on, validate my worth on the internet, let's make 4000 posts tonight! We only need 8 more!

PTPP! Sorry, but it was morning & we were both sober.

My best advice from the unfortunate incident is:

Don't ever get old!

Ghost! Powell River may well be retirement heaven to you, but we both know in that marine climate, you won't be growing asparagus. On the other hand, Heidi & I can't grow blueberries here.

Well, neither of those things really matters, because I'll be able to buy asparagus in the store, just as you will be able to buy blueberries. The real issue is peppers and tomatoes.

You know what they say: Only two things that money can't buy, and that's true love and home grown tomatoes. To which I'd add a third, home-grown hot peppers.

But the climate in Powell River is even more pepper/tomato-friendly than Seattle, where I've been able to grow and harvest amazing pepper and tomato crops. So I think we'll be fine.

And to keep this in it's proper Friday-night escape groove... We had dinner at the house of good friends tonight, with grilled beef (home raised by another friend) and grilled venison (provided by a hunter relative) at the center of the meal. Accompanied by some fine Medoc. Very fine Medoc.

And, of course, my sympathy to your de-ankled partner.
