I've been EAGERLY waiting for years to see what might happen to the rich folks, who have built their vacation homes next to mountain rivers, to discover why, in the old days, it was the poor folks who lived down by the river.
Those nasty rich people.

Lollie ... you suck. Can't believe you deleted what was unarguably one of the all-time best Friday Night Posts!
So I'm back in Montreal with shagadelic Anita514, and we are working on a Parducci small lot blend Petite Sirah. Unfortunately, it's no hell.
Our go-to Petite Sirah, at least the stuff that we buy at a store rather than personally select from a winery, is Robert Reynolds Rocky's Block.
That being said, that hands-down best-ever Petite Sirah I ever had was from Saracina, bought at Locals in Geyserville, in the heart of Sonoma. Locals is a wine tasting room that features winemakers too small to have their own wine tasting room. It used to be free ... one wonders if that is still the case?
My all time favourite wine tasting room! [not only because it's free, but because the wine is all so excellent] Don't miss the tamales from the gas station across the street, made by a Mexican-looking lady who actually happens to be from India!

A giant margarita from a Mexican restaurant in Moab. Giant fish bowl kind. Deadly for someone who doesn't do well with hard liquor. Did I say fish tank size? Hopefully it was rimmed with Himalayan salt. Then it's organic or healthy, or sumting, right?

Waiting for spring here in Montreal with the shagadelic Anita514. Starting out with a Murphy's Irish stout, and finishing up our bottle of 19 Crimes Aussie Red, an inexpensive yet superb blend of Shiraz and Grenache.
I think we're taking a bottle of Lodi Petite Sirah with us out to supper tonight. God bless Queerbec and their BYOB setup.
