Despite his recent chemo reaction, he's still climbing hard! We went out the day after (he was on a mission) and climbed a 10a on Suicide Rock. Not a sign of shakiness on the climb from him.

I'm also glad to hear that his is an easily treatable cancer!

just chiming in here--got to know clark better at josh this spring, having seen him for years and years at jan's red kettle and crack o' noon construction. he's been climbing and guiding nonstop, generously lending his expertise to noobs on days off. we need to have national treasures in this country like they do in japan.

Clark is one of the coolest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. When I first started climbing, he was more than generous with beta for this newbee.

Ran into him at Idyllwild about a year ago at the Red Kettle. He was looking healthy and as always, had the great attitude. Sorry to hear he has to go through the chemotherapy again. He'll be back.

Just got a call from Clark. He asked me to post an update on his behalf. He said:

Because of the bad reaction he had during his last chemo treatment, his chemo treatments have been suspended for now. He is waiting for a new evaluation from his doctor on July 7 to see where his health is. He will know the next step at that time. In the meantime he is back to climbing daily in Idyllwild. He again thanks everybody for their well wishes, thoughts and prayers. Every little bit helps.

Don, that picture is rad!

Clark is such a nice guy. Every time I bumped into him up at Suicide, he was all smiles and positivity.

I'm sending him all the good wishes I can!
