Access Fund

Topic Author's Original Post - Jan 28, 2016 - 10:20am PT

25 years ago today, stone master Rick Accomazzo signed documents that incorporated the Access Fund as an independent organization. Rick is still an unwavering advocate for climbing access and donates significant pro bono legal work to the cause. A huge thank you to Rick and to all of those who have built the Access Fund into the great organization it is today!

We'll be celebrating our 25th anniversary throughout 2016 and will be having a big party and celebration in the Boulder area on October 22 -- save the date.

Wow, this is a great post. I didn't know that and I routinely give the access fund $cratch. Thanks Rick A and all the hard working folks who do so much for so many.

Thanks Rick, but I wonder when it comes to conservation is the organization up to taking some positions that might be unpopular with the current crowd of climbers in favor of those of the future?

Proud to know the guy.

Rick's an original Stonemaster, to this day a strong, sophisticated and generous advocate for climbing, and a really fun, smart guy, good for an enlightening, informative conversation about just about anything worth discussing.

Humble and low key, to boot. Respect!

AND, perhaps most importantly, Rick is one of the nicest guys on the planet! Has a lovely wife and great kids. Upstanding man, funny and kind. Oh, and is a secret surfer, as well! :-)
I am honored to call him a friend, as was Jack.

Ricky and Gerry are without a doubt some of the most special people on our planet. I am blessed to be able to call them friends. I didn't know this about Rick but I am in no way surprised. Thanks, Dude, for all you do with the Access Fund as well as so many other wonderful things both professionally and personally you pull off to make life better here on the planet. Cheers from lynnie and let's party on in the Sierra. :)

It was so cool to visit with Rick this summer after some 35-40 years since I had last seen him. Such an easy going, respectful, and inspiring person with loads of integrity. I'm sure that climbers for many years to come will appreciate the efforts Rick and his organization have put forth to preserve climbing area access. He's a great writer and a wealth of knowledge as well.

Thank you Rick!
