After five years of negotiations I have finally come to terms with the NPS on a concession for the spring at the base of Half Dome.
In return for improvements designed to protect the Red Spotted Toad and for developing a website with up to date flow information I will be permitted to charge a user fee- amount of which is still under negotiation.
Improvements, website and fee structure should all be in place for the 2014 climbing season.

$97.52 per liter sounds about right.
Do you get to build some tent cabins on the HD shoulder for your concession employees? 'Cause I might be lookin for a job soon.

Uncle:
Is it true that water from the spring is free, but there is a permitting fee to consider?
N' the use permit, is there a fee schedule depending on how much of the muck your willing to sustain in your water bottle ?
I heard those with MSR or some such, water filters pay a premium fee for the free water ?
