I did some photo restoration work for a friend of mine. These shots are somewhat historic in that this was the second day of a two day "Day on the Green" concert at the Oakland - Alameda County Coliseum. This was the last day Led Zeppelin ever played in the United States on July 24, 1977. After the performance, news came that Robert Plant's five year old son, Karac, had died from a stomach virus. The rest of the tour was immediately cancelled..

Good sh#t, Wally!

Mr. Brennan, the Black Crows flat out kick ass~ They were an obvious perfect fit to do Zep covers with 'The Man', Jimmy.

I cannot get enough of the album they did together...

Jimmy was great, not for his fretting ability, there were many faster and more adept.

He was a genius of a song composer! He was the best. Hands down at laying guitar music down. Sometimes it was simple, or quaint, but it always shook you.

Jimmy Page rocks!!

As much as I love Zeppelin, I do think they should have given proper credit for all the lyrics and music they didn't write (but shamelessly and knowingly took credit for). I know there's nothing new under the sun, and everything's a remix, but still, Page is totally full of shite. Here's about 20 minutes of examples:

Etc.

They were still a hell of a cover band.

my favorite quote about Zep was from Ted Nugent. When discussing the influence of British bands and Zep, Nugent replied "Led Zeppelin is about as British as a f#cking Ford".

There is some video out there of little Jimmy Page on an old black and white TV show in Britain. Some kind of talent show, little Jimmy and his guitar, classic!
