I am a Park Ranger who is working on the SAR of John Williams, if you have any information that might help us locate him or if you were hiking in the same areas during the same time we would like to talk to you and find out any information you might have. You can call the SAR investigations office of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park at 559-565-3762. Thank you for your help.

John lives across the street from us. A nice guy who has backpacked a lot and has experience in the backcountry. Here's hoping for a good outcome.

John is inclined to wear a big white hat and glacier glasses (even around town) and he'll probably have the same on when he's found.

He wrote a book (yet to be published) about his experience on a long walk through the Sierra. It was good reading. John knows what he's doing out there.

John's had some health problems that had kept him out out of the backcountry for quite a few years. Mostly legs and back if I can remember. Hope they haven't flared up with all the walking. Godspeed John. Weird not seeing his light on across the street and looking up above the roof in the same direction knowing he's out there somewhere.

Hope they haven't flared up with all the walking.

That actually gives me hope that he is just holed up somewhere resting his back. I have a messed up back and know that it can really sideline a person.

I hope they find him soon. Anyone know what resources are being used to find him? Is an active search happening? There is bad weather heading our way Tuesday.

He is apparently home and well -- news via Facebook and reliable sources.
