I find these pictures in my camera, later, really taken of nothing.
They remind me of having thought for a moment I'd reached the most cosmic place on Earth.

I know what you mean Chiloe.
Even if it's not the most cosmic place on Earth, at least it's a view from a ledge and not just the inside of a cubicle!!

About two-thirds the way up Journey Home in the Black Canyon is a ledge, large and flat. As I belayed my partner up, a turkey vulture floated nearby on a thermal; me looking at him, him looking at me. Once my partner joined me, we sat silently with legs dangling over the river below. I've been searching to replicate that moment ever since.

I know people are gonna put up killer views from killer ledges later tonight, so I'll get mine in while it's still a relatively humble affair!!

ledge views of partners coming and going...

so where's that ledge in your op, Chiloe? somewhere on the celebratory trip west, I'm guessing. that clear dry air "looks" different than the muggy, albeit cool, stuff out my window.

What, you don't believe that's North Conway in a dry spell? Or this is?

You are coy.

Remember, now, I did once mistake Red Rock for Rumney in one of your pics last year.

Truth is, I'm just trying to confirm rumors of you guys ticking off a list of climbs.

Cragman, here's a scene from that same ledge, the first day that anyone saw its view.
