I find these pictures in my camera, later, really taken of nothing.
They remind me of having thought for a moment I'd reached the most cosmic place on Earth.

I know what you mean Chiloe.
Even if it's not the most cosmic place on Earth, at least it's a view from a ledge and not just the inside of a cubicle!!

About two-thirds the way up Journey Home in the Black Canyon is a ledge, large and flat. As I belayed my partner up, a turkey vulture floated nearby on a thermal; me looking at him, him looking at me. Once my partner joined me, we sat silently with legs dangling over the river below. I've been searching to replicate that moment ever since.

Yeah Chiloe, a thunderstorm moving in and a couple of pins placed in just the right place to lure you off route, so that you're facing a blank chossy wall (this was supposed to be 5.8!) just as that afternoon storm moves in and the hairs on the back of your neck start to tingle.

My best guess is somewhere in Snow Canyon. If memory serves, there's a collection of routes starting off of large, broken ledges on a formation well to the right of the Aftershock Wall along the Snow Canyon Parkway. Can't recall the name of the formation or the routes, but your photo looks reminescent of that area.

I wish the weather were that nice back east today...I was supposed to climb at Poko this afternoon, but the rain is coming down...

From a ledge huh. Porta ledge? is this what you desire? Sunrise is on the way.

Or was the desire for the first thing you see when you arrived at a ledge?

Or do you want to see the views out from last weekends ledge, well more of a large sloper than a ledge.

You guys should be more specific, you know, so I will know what it is you wish to see.

It is apparently possible to bellycrawl across Bellygood Ledge, hence perhaps the name. It has been done unroped, while facing outward, in snow and ice, and so on. Hopefully it will never be sanitized by the convenience bolters. If you can get to the Dance Platform, by any means, you can do the ledge.
