Nah, they never make sense. Last time he (he,she, it, who knows) got pissy that I posted his email address on here. He emailed me asking me to delete the post. That's how I figured out nav4blk was midacockjock (the email address was a dead giveaway). Just annoying....
One day I'll post up his email addresses on some nefarious computer forums.
Mucci told me he emailed him one day and ask if Mucci had anyone's taco logins and passwords. I wish Mucci had saved that email.
Glad to here your daughter is doing better BTW.

It's unlawful to expose somebody's name, telephone or email
regardless of what a phone company says about making them
private at cost.

I don't get it so much either.
I suspect it's some automated computer program, some kid who is obviously not from the us given the lack of grammar. Man dude's grammar has to be pretty bad for me to complain about it. Every once in a while he makes pseudo comprehensible posts but usually it's just gibberish.
But it might be a person, so I feel obligated to reply :)

Sure my post isn't exactly the most friendly (although I did try to make it humorous) but I've been getting weird, unsolicited annoying emails, often with an underlying not so nice tone from the as#@&%e via tacostand msgs for a while now. Seems to me like this is an appropriate place to mention it (what else am I going to do email him from a normal account and get a sh#t load of spam on that email address from f*#kface). Apparently I'm not the only one who gets these emails. It's not you who gets the messages I do from him so I'm not so sure how you can conclude that this post isn't necesary.
Personally I think all the political threads are unnecessary on a climbing forum, and this (damaged-nav-cock-f*#k's emails) clearly (to me at least) has a direct connection to this forum since the asswipe contacts me via this forum. So to me this seems more on topic than political stuff. Yet that is my opinion - right or wrong (wait it's an opinion so it can abtain neither right or wrong status).....
Anyhow I'll make you a deal! If you only post climbing related stuff then I'll quite all my (few) non-climbing posts...
If you're not in to that trade then I think you've got a big double standard and should perhaps get off your high horse on this. Also I really really really doubt he's not all there. If you think that's the case, then perhaps you should try to help him rather than chastise a poor victim such as myself - WTF?

kev, have you sent CMac this information, with examples of the offending messages? He might be willing to block or cut off those particular users, for what that's worth.
It's possible that he/she/it is spamming everyone, but that many of our servers are filtering it out before we see it.
I agree that nav4blk, midarockjock, and 4damages' posts are bizarre.

I've corresponded with nav4blk before in the past. I tried to be short, helpful but minimal and he stopped emailing me after a while. I don't think there is anything malevolent about the guy but get the clear impression that while intelligent in many ways, that his state of mind would be considered by mental health professionals as needing care. If you really think he doesn't have issues with what's real, you haven't been reading carefully.
If you saw a homeless PTSD vet raving a bit on a street corner, perhaps you'd be bothered but have the compassion not to call him out on his behavior publicly, just as you wouldn't make fun of people's handicaps of other sorts.
If you haven't asked him via the email function on supertopo to leave you alone but went straight to telling him to FU on supertopo, you could probably use a deep breath and some introspection about your own actions
I'm not asking if your post was unnecessary because I think it is off-topic or takes up space, but rather because I think slamming somebody publicly who may have a problem, particularly if you haven't gone through other channels first, is not the best behavior as a human.

I agree with Karl. Posting something here that someone sent you in private is ethically questionable.
Calling them out, pointing them out as potentially a problem is of course acceptable. They can defend themselves and their activities if they desire.

That seem really bogus doesn't it.
Additionally this isn't a new problem with him and he has been made aware of my desire for him not to contact me before. Hell I outed nav4blk = midarock on this forum before the same why (a 'little' nicer the first time).
Hell dude is harassing me by contacting me from a public forum and you think It's bogus to call him out here? This is his means of contacting me. If I email him back then I have to go and create a special email just for him so my regular email doesn't get loaded with spam. Nah I think not I'll out him on the place he used to contact me.
Seems fair to me...
I really doubt any of us know with any certainty what his deal is. Could be a real nutjob, could be some jerk, could be a computer bot, could be some combination of the above. Basically I don't care at this point. I highly doubt it's an actually person with ptsd, but he if it is I'm in the wrong. Problem is there's no way you can discern if that is or isn't the case, and I don't believe it is...Thus I'm happy with what I wrote and why.
