Instead of deleting, how about simply knott starting so many?

Yeah. Instead, try searching for a relevant topic and add to that thread.

The feeble-minded among us act as though this is the only forum on the 'net...

Dr. F could delete the first post, and so title, of his public service thread any time. It would still be there in all its glory, sans first post and title, for anyone who had the URL and wanted to look at it or even add to it.

I suspect for many of us, SuperTopo is the only forum we follow or post to, in part because of the variety of topics, including climbing, and in part because we like to talk with climbers. There are undoubtedly many other forums around, but none with the same attributes.

Are you unaware of the 10 day edit window? The OP was somewhat more than 10 days ago...

Perhaps now Zip understands the true benefits of a NUKE? First no likey on the Nuke now no deleting?

Next thing you know it's the EDIT button.

Is this OT?

I just checked several threads I started some time ago. One, with 450 posts, was started in September 2008. The "edit" button is still visible on the first post, which means I could change or delete that post (and that post only) any time I want. The ten day rule doesn't seem to apply - although I wasn't tempted to actually edit let alone delete to prove the hypothesis.

Not having deleted any of the threads I've started - all of which of course contain timeless pearls of wisdom, not to be so hazarded - I can't say whether or not a thread, once deleted, can then be added to. I guess zip can give it a try with this one, or indeed create an experimental thread just for that purpose.

sounds like a great plan!

BTW.... HK.... do a little research. It appears the 10 day limit on deleting a thread you started has been lifted.

Though that said it would be a pity if Dr. F deleted is post. So many politi-tards post there instead of two a dozen other various threads. Keep the kids in one sandbox I say!

Anders, deleted threads cannot be added to.
A number of us tried when the original Southern Yosemite thread was
deleted by Crazy Horse.

Sometimes I wish I could delete my name from the huge So. Yosemite
replacement thread...since I haven't seen most of the hundreds of posts
in it, and haven't contributed since it was pretty new...

I think I have made my point here?

No?I don't think you have Zip.

What is your beef?

If threads are unpopular they just fade off the page. Like many I have wrote. Reardon said piss off! don’t tell me what to write! Or to delete.

Well? Zippy; That should end this thread. See It just falls off the page. No problem. No? That’s the most wonderful thing about this forum! I have posted all kinds of sh#t. (pissed) that people don’t like. Do I care? Yes. Do I give a f*#k what they think? No! Will it change what I post? Maybe. But I doubt it. Because I post here because my friends know what a f*#ked up mess I am anyway so I can say what ever I want and no one cares.

So getting back, WHATS YOUR F*#KING BEEF DUDE?
