K2 was pretty cool. It had a lot of real climberisims in it. the married guy who is a solid partner, the wild, talented rope gun whoes life is a train wreck. Asshole elitiests etc. obviously they got some stuff wrong but they also got a lot of stuff right. the Stalone movie which shall not be named sucked to the power of 11!

I'd have to give American Sniper a nod for the award. Worst I've seen lately anyway. I expected so much more I guess, big box office, clint Eastwood, modern times and technology, but yuk.

Arne, I saw the trailer and instantly knew it was a POS. The book is actually readable.

Saw this a week ago. My experience was the opposite. I'd heard so much bile, expected the worst. Instead watched a sympathetic portrait of a soldier trying to do his best in a terrible situation and slowly losing his sanity. Tragic since he had a family and ended up unable to communicate with them at all. And, upon managing to regain some humanity by helping other traumatized vets, being killed by one who was, presumably, as far gone as he had been, or worse.

Eastwood's mistake was to set the movie in the Iraq War, a raw wound, still unhealed, and an emotional and political minefield.

EDIT: Worst movie ever, my nomination: Orgy of the Dead, directed by Ed Wood, mid-60s

Worst climbing movie ever: Bear Gryll's video of "climbing" the Tombstone, near Moab:

Not the worst movie I've seen, but Sandra Bullock winning an Oscar for The Blind Side makes me throw up in my mouth a little.

Confession: Anytime that Stallone film is on TV, I'm friggin' watching.
Everybody needs to laugh hard from time to time.

I laughed at the bird bombers, beavers are worth a chuckle, but this is just messed up:

The Human Centipede

A Mengle-like crazy German doctor captures tourists, and sews them together, mouth to anus, to create his masterpiece - a human centipede.

You can see the entire film on Netflix.

Hmm.. as far as Demi movies go... "Scarlet Letter" is pretty bad, but I think I'll go with "Strip Tease" as the "worst".

Ha ha ha ... maybe, but I give that one a little more elevated position based on the fact that someone tried to make a movie out of a Carl Hiaasen book. Tough translation...

One thing's for sure. Now that I've seen Vertical Limit, I don't feel so bad anymore when I have to cut my partner loose.

Watching the video of "The Room", it seems to be loosely based on Jean Paul Sartre's "No Exit".

I had to do a recording session with Segal. His assistants arrived early. This Asian fellow took me aside, and while making arts gestures explained to me that Mr. Segal has a very short temper and at some point I'll do something he doesn't like. "He won't be nice."

What is an arts gesture?

Eastwoods mistake with american sniper was to fabricate the enemy sniper rivalvy that never existed. they said they did it to add drama but that is a pathetic excuse. What! Killing hundreds of people is not enough drama for you? seriously that bogus sniper rivalry casts a huge shadow of suspicion of BS over the entire project..

Well, Gary, without even looking at that I'm afraid I might have to declare this thread done,
if only based on the title.
