houldnt we clean our political hog trough known as the house before contemplating major changes of any sort under the guise of said house? How do we expect any truths from all those lying sobs, about ANYTHING at this juncture is sooo beyond me it isnt funny.

Oh, I see, you are still confused about the difference between politicians and scientists. I'm sure once you pull your head out of your ass someone will take the time to explain it to you, again. But for now, I think most of us are tired.

Give me one example of something idiotic I've done, other than entertain the fact that you dipshits might actually be capable of understanding elementary science.

Examples? Well Wes the mess, mister recently unemployed junior PHD man, how about your last post, all the others before that, and all your indiscreet posting on all other public social networks. Do you seriously think employers don't look at shet like you post nowadays? If you want a career you had better give up the mouth.

It does seem small-minded to put it in military terms.

Tell that to rick instead of me.

wind farms, etc. were all very popular topics among the masses and with the politicians. But in the last five years, everything has gone south.

Please, do google wind energy and I am sure that you would find information that show a very large and growing interest for wind energy. The wind energy installed per year is higher every year and it is a very large interest in offshore wind.

The latest IPCC report has softened its position.

Really?

And the masses have mostly lost interest.

Regarding interest among the masses, look at the Arctic ice minimum. The new record, in 2007, got tons of media attention. In 2012, not so much. Coverage on the latest IPCC report lasted about a day. They basically said AGW is real and not much else.

I'm not saying this is a good thing. I'm only pointing out how the movement to fight global warming seems to have lost steam.

Or maybe more and more people believe in man made global warming so that the interest in media isn't that large?

Check this Gallup page. Looking at nearly all of the questions related to global warming, interest peaking around 2007 and is now at or near its lowest levels since peaking.

I skimmed some of the questions and can't really agree with what you say. The data from 2013 are mostly pretty close to the max values.

I also did think about the issue globally and what for example politicians and governments thinks.

Impressive read what you want to hear from the IPCC report. They are more certain than before that humans are the reason for the global warming but you seem to say something else.

I really can't follow you. Question 1 are for example not about global warming.

The questions I found seems to have 2010-2011 as the most "pro" denier and the recent years more "pro" agw. 2013 is at least rarely very close to the min values.

Maybe I'm wrong. But it seems that the recent release was treated like a passing footnote... undeserving of further discussion.

You seems to suggest that medias reaction say something about the science so that you can say "The latest IPCC report has softened its position". I really don't understand that logic.

Polling data have been studied closely, just as climate data have been. Just a short note here -- the overall polling trends (or lack thereof) are deceptive, in that they average movement in opposite directions among political subgroups.

Over the past decade we've seen growing polarization, resulting in large part from movement by Republicans away from the center. Tea Party Republicans are most extreme.

Ah, forget this silly climate madness professor. Until such time as your guys can show convincing physical evidence in the real world please be quiet in your caves. In the end it's all about reality, not flat earth models regardless of how well the lab experiments and isolated computations of individual processes seemed on paper.

Now your gardening thread is some real meat and potatoes reality I can get my head around.

What do you think The Chief would say if his views were supported by 97% of the peer-reviewed scientific papers, and it was shown that a large portion of the dissenting 3% were paid off by think-tanks with a specific political agenda?

Yeah The Chief, we're having a hay day with the shallowness of your intellectual capacity.

The release of this latest report (only part of AR5) seemed ho hum.

This is a sad fact, because it's the MSM of the richest nations that produce the low-noise hum.

But go to some other countries, and the hum is quite loud. That's because their media is not owned by those who want to bury the economic realities of AWG.

The Chief, those pictures are dire indeed.

But what do they have to do with what we're talking about? I said to look at the world's media coverage of AWG.

I said to look at the world's media coverage of AWG.

Can't find any.

That's because you didn't look.

But I did, and I found some pretty interesting sites. Like this:

http://blogs.kqed.org/climatewatch/2012/01/05/who-generated-the-most-climate-b-s-in-2011/comment-page-1/

Who Generated the Most Climate “B.S.” in 2011?

THE WINNER OF THE 2011 CLIMATE B.S. OF THE YEAR AWARDS IS:

All of the Republican candidates for President

Being anti-science in general, and anti-climate science in particular, seems a requirement for nomination to lead the Republican Party. Not a single one of the Republican candidates for President has a position on climate change that is consistent with the actual science accepted by 97-98% of all climate scientists and every national academy of sciences on the planet. The choice among the current Republican candidates on the issue of climate change is scientific ignorance, distain for science, blatant misrepresentation of facts, or naked political expediency, any one of which would make the individual candidates strong contenders for the 2011 Climate B.S. Award. Combined? The group wins the 2011 Award hands down.

Hmmm, looks like we know what kind of info The Chief is able to find.

B.S. = Bad Science
