The Chief and Ron have made you hotheads seem very weak, impotent and obsolete. Find a new and healthier religion gentlemen, you don't stand a chance with this one as it will self destruct under the weight of unmistakeable, increasing real world observations in the near future anyway.Wait until your high priests and masters get their lazy asses around to processing this years data, you'll see.

Ed, why do you embarass yourself and damage your professional reputation with defense of a scheme that is rapidly losing its underpinnings. Save face man, at least go neutral.

Just for YOU tricky Ricky...I toned down my rhetoric because Rong's feelings got hurt and I didn't want to get banned...I do enjoy looking at evidence that is presented FROM BOTH SIDES of the debate...

In college one of my professors had us look up scientific papers and studies that were used in advertisements (mostly in fitness mags)---it was incredible how many ads cited a specific study but then actually LIED and said their product was beneficial according to the study--most of the studies in fact had said the product had no effect or a detrimental effect while some had a placebo effect.

That is what I see with Rong's links and quotations from articles...I give him a break because he isn't educated...I'm not saying he's lying but that he doesn't understand what he is reading (if he even reads the links he's posting about).

Same with Le Chef...he didn't answer the question posed about his graph in regards to what "Ma" meant --look back at the thread---WHY because Le Chef doesn't know what it means in the graph or the written explanation of said graph (to be fair I don't know what it means either).

It's obvious they are both to old to change their spots or learn new tricks.

Ron, according to this information you've given us below, shouldn't we quit pumping so much CO2 into the atmosphere? The Chief said we want warm, not cold.

The result was an overall cooling effect that completely contradicts claims made by NASA's own climatology division that greenhouse gases are a cause of global warming. As illustrated by data collected using Sounding of the Atmosphere using Broadband Emission Radiometry (SABER), both carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitric oxide (NO), which are abundant in the earth's upper atmosphere, greenhouse gases reflect heating energy rather than absorb it.

You see, THAT answer is up to debate.

OK - debate it rather than beating around the bush.

Ridiculous to claim 0.3 degree C of atmospheric warming for the world wide glacier melt back.

ok, so then what would you attribute the glacial melt to?

Id look at yourself lion, from what i can tell your red with a multitude of sick looking pink spots. The level of in doctrination and resulting loss of self mind control of you CAGW zealots is breathtaking. Dont you guys realize that if the progressive schemes somehow are successsful you'll be treated as expendable numbers with a quality of life that is exponetionally less than you now enjoy? Utopia not!

Then on another post some denialist will claim glaciers are not melting. Remember, things are actually getting colder. I do suppose that article about Nepal mentions aerosols. I'll give you that.

View the video, please. I'd like to know who here would like to live like this.

We've been there for along time NewWorldOdor. That's why we're all climbing escapists. It's OK to look back at the 'work-a-daddy hives' to show how things are not all that good. I'm reading a book about the Cro-Magnons and Neanderthals. I feel at my best with a spear in my hand, or a rock. Anyway, climate is a big part of the book even though I've just started it. The authors take so far, about contemporary climate, is that the changes we are making are above and beyond 'natural fluctuation'. Anyway, I'm jumping around here a little, but the world is changing fast. You all better hang on tight! :>)

NOT that CO2 is going up, but WHAT affect that has.

Clearly Ron, as you pointed out earlier, it's cooling the planet and insulating us from solar heat.

Rong--a good education can be had from the school of hard knocks I have a degree from there myself, by the way colleges don't educate you--everybody educates themselves but the college puts there name behind it because they "check' your work...I taught myself climbing from the book "freedom of the hills", in addition to wiring my house during remodeling from a book.

Didn't I mention I stood up for a disabled elderly man and was fired for it took the world's largest fitness company to court and won (after 2 years) I have more determination and perseverance than tricky ricky will ever have...I ALWAYS STAND UP FOR THE WEAK AND POWERLESS--doubt me check out Crisma Fuchs (look up her court case) she was an illiterate 64 year old immigrant who was raped while a caregiver in a Balboa Island home (she didn't win in court--she waited to long to tell anybody--BUT she will tell you that I am an ANGEL--her words to everybody...since I tried to repair her broken spirit and fight for her when no one else would---got fired for it too.

By the way I started climbing at age 26 after growing up in that climbing mecca Kansas City, taught myself and now at age 41 am leading 5.12 and that is without having any climbing mentors to push me like DANO for you

I have helped people with spinal cord injuries get out of their prison of a wheelchair (for hours--not forever) because they know I care and will not quit and won't let them quit either.

don't you remember this last year me emailing you to encourage you and your business being on hard times...and that's for somebody I don't even know WHY? Because I'm a bleeding heart who believes the strong help the weak---while you may not be weak you do need help

You choose A or B

I don't think it's the aerosols that are melting Antarctica.

http://arstechnica.com/science/2011/03/uh-oh-greenland-and-antarctica-melting-faster-than-expected/

The verification test produced results that were within 20 gigatons per year in Greenland and 150 gigatons per year in Antarctica, well under previously observed error estimates for each individual approach.

These figures represent a melt rate that cannot be replaced by yearly snowfall in the near term. Even an increase in snowfall rates cannot outpace it. Like Ron said, "stay close to the life-rafts".

back on topic: SEA LEVEL will RISE due to GREENLAND ICE SHEET MELTING

http://www.motherjones.com/environment/2013/01/greenland-ice-melting-climate-change

I'm tempted to blame part of the melting on us watching video's of Dano crushing because I watch them so much!

Sea ice is not continental ice. It's the continental ice that is melting and helping the sea ice along by 'freshening' the seawater. I have not considered that the same process may be supporting whatever Arctic Ice Extent is left.
