RIP Huell. I never wondered what the center of California was, but now thanks to you I know this and so many other cool things. Hint, it's not Merced.

Good one zBrown and also his 4-corners show was legendary, esp the talus trudging he did up on the Modoc (they got lost, WITH GPS units harhar)

Miss you Huell!

My favorite clip is when he trips out about an avacado eatin' dog.

You'll be missed, Huell.

I like the part on the half done cables hike episode where he tops out and walks up to a couple guys about to celebrate the summit with some shots and he offers Huell a shot. Huell says sure, the camera cuts away for a couple seconds and comes back and you know Huell just downed the shot and was even happier than normal.

Huell is on KVIE watching Cliff make Apple Cider near Ferndale. I love his show and now I want Cider.

If you are a Huell Howser fan you will want to watch this tribute to him

This tribute does a good job with his history, it is interesting, humorous and poignant. His last episode was the Jacaranda Tree episode. Watching it now, knowing that he was very ill and nearing the end of his life, is very touching, I got a little teary eyed.

There will be a Huell Howsesr marathon on KCET, and will include the Half Dome climb and Firefall episode

RIP Huell

Surprised no one mentioned the Whitney/Badwater episode with our favorite hamburger-slingin' punk loping down the trail to talk to Huell at 09:22.

(You can also watch all the episodes on that site, too.)

AAA has a new Huell Howser California map. A regular map of major California roads, with notations at places Huell did shows.

I haven't gotten down to AAA to pick one up yet ( the one I saw belongs to my Old Man ), but looking around the subject I found this:

Damn, he's been to a lot of places.

Very nice seal and awesome map!

Looking at Huell's map gives me pause to reflect on all the wonderful places I've also been in California.
