Come on...Fatrad, I've read your posts. They are full of shite but they show an intelligence superior to that possessed by any neocon.

Hmmm, Yom Kippur begins on the 27th, the day after MeatFest. Maybe we can help FatTrad atone - form a minyan for the minion, so to speak.

Donini, you should show up, dude. Jeff aka Fatty, is quite nice in person. He's not a total neocon...just a mean conservative Jew as opposed to a mean conservative Catholic (like me).

Makes for good times, dude!

Whatever happens in Yellow Pines, stays in Yellow Pines.

Bring it Donini. Good time guaranteed...plus it's be cool to have some beers with ya!

Oh and the place is rolling with pinko liberals too!

Holy sh#t, fish tacos sounds tasty, Lynne. I may be able to bring some fresh West Coast cod or Halibut. Fish tacos!!!

No, SuperTacos!!!!

Jim, the FaceLift runs from the 23rd - 27th this year. Ken and the YCA have some campsites available for people helping, at Yellow Pine and Camp 4. The last two years many have arrived by the Tuesday evening (22nd this year), and we've had a SushiFest (courtesy nature et al) that night, before the FaceLift officially starts. No sushi this year, but possibly a group activity that evening. Not everyone will be there - many can't arrive before Thursday or Friday. But there's a good bunch.

There were some noise and other issues last year, which is why the BBQ, and perhaps other Yellow Pine based social events, will be at Sentinel Beach rather than YP itself.

I didn't hear any noise. I heard music, but no noise. And the music was not loud.

Edit: Darn, now my private beach is going to be invaded. I had it, seriously, all to myself every day last year. It is so special.......:)

Sort of OT, but there is information about camping and other arrangements for the FL this year at:
http://www.supertopo.com/climbing/thread.html?topic_id=887411
http://www.supertopo.com/climbing/thread.html?topic_id=816593

The threads include some discussion of how others (i.e. the NPS and camp hosts) viewed some behaviour at Yellow Pine last year. See particularly Ken's report and comments at http://www.supertopo.com/climbing/thread.html?topic_id=816593&msg=830716#msg830716

We can help Ken and the YCA by being on our best behaviour in camp. There's lots of opportunity to be louder at the various FaceLift evening events, to some extent at Sentinel Beach, and perhaps at Crane or Tamarack if some camp there. No need to bring such behaviour back to camp.

If necessary, I will distribute milk and cookies and read bedtime stories, to ensure that everyone is safely and quietly tucked in by a suitable time each night.

Werner shifts to the 'maybe' category when it comes to marmelade, which presumably also isn't hard core.

But then, I'm a modest climber, with much to be modest about. Not sure if I'm a has been or a never was.

And as the son of a children's librarian, I'll read bedtime stories whenever I darn well please, thank you very much.
