My band, Dwarf Rat, plays two acoustic sets Thursday in honor of Jerry's birthday. If you're in Bakersfield, come on by King Tut's Restaurant . We play from 6:30-8:30.
Tonight is the GD movie all across the country.

Happy Birthday Jerome!
Sometimes the songs that we sing are just songs of our own.

I miss that fat man noodling away in the Warfield. Some great nights were had there.
Ill bore you with this story.
The last time I went to see Jerry play it was at the Warfield. I had prep'd myself for a long night of song and dance and was tuned up well before the band had tuned up. Im standing on the isle on the first rise above the floor level front and center.
I am jazzed up to say the least. I loved the Jerry band more than the Dead and well I saw my first Dead run at Laguna Seca circa 87 and the next shows I saw were 20 Jerry shows the first run was the tour with Clarence Clemons, and then a bunch of Grisman/ Garcia, and then more Jerry.
The theater is filling up and I am excitied about three nights of Jerry. I'm solo the first night and its about to happen when the curtain opens and a man comes out on stage and proceeds to drop an atomic bomb of bad news on my already primed up head.
he proceeds to tell us the show is cancelled due to the fact jerry had touched a sea urchin and had an infection and could not play.
BUUUUUUMMMMMERRRRRRR. They let us hang out for a few hours to de tune but in the end all three nights were cancelled and well I never saw him again.
Happy Birthday Jerry miss the great music and like I heard you say a thousand times.
" The Music Never Stopped"
It hasnt! RIP and 70 he had so many good years left.
I cant believe he has been gone almost 20 years now.

Or half a cup of rock and rye...
There's always red grenadine too...
or a gin fizz...
Interestingly enough, last time I was at that theatre on the flanks of the tenderloin, Mr Charlie got boots stompin and the joint jumpin.

It all rolls into one and nothing comes for free,
There's nothing you can hold, for very long.
And when you hear that song come crying like the wind,
It seems like all this life was just a dream.
Stella blue. stella blue.
