If you want to complain about sprawl along 395, start with the Victorville thru Adelanto section that lasts about 18 miles and takes 36 minutes at an average speed of 30 mph including the dozens of new stopsigns and lights added in the last 15 years.

Just to preface , I've spent plenty of my hard earned money there and will probably continue to do so in the future.

That being said , SOME of the workers there are dixs . They have an attitude like , "Hey we're the Mobil" , deal with it . it's kind of a bummer , some of the employees are nice . Just seems like the jerky ones stick in your mind more than the nice ones .

PowderDan,
There are a number of people on ST who won't post in less they can think of something negative to say. This forum is beginning to get old for me.

This place is extremely climber friendly and the food and drinks are great!

Nefarius: While I totally understand your point.... slagging those of us who save up all year to get out there and have Cathedral as a main objective by calling us weekend warriors is pretty lame. I can assure you that many of us out east climb several times a week and are hardly weekend warriors just because we want to climb one of the most famous peaks in Tuolumne and want to eat a f^%$&*% fish taco afterward.

PS: TPR is the sh#t.

Too expensive, Ceasar salad has tasteless dressing, too many Mexican guys yelling orders in Spanglish throughout dinner, RV crowd now frequents the place, plenty of dead flies and dust on the window next to my table...

Roman - I'm pretty sure that east coast guys aren't the majority of the traffic at the mobil. I'd wager they're barely a percent of the minority - regardless of your weekend warrior status.

I think sully is on to something too tho. RV crowd. Yup.

My wife and I pulled in to the playground in Mammoth to let our kids stretch their legs. The owners of the MM place were there with their kid. Totally nice and apparently hard working folks.

I often drop by for a beer and a taco, sit on the grass, hear some music. What's not to like?

Worst sandwich I ever had at the Mobi. I'll stick with the unhealthy but satisfying menu of Nicely's

I've been once. Wasn't that impressed. It seemed overpriced. Maybe my mood. Was supposed to go to Conness but ripping thunderstorms started at about 4 am. By 8 am gave up and went there to have breakfast. Had heard good things so we bypassed TPR. The owner(?) was walking around the eating area killing flies with a fly swatter. Very appetizing! Ended up at the Gorge. Got a few pitches in and got slammed with a cloud burst. Just dumping. Chased everyone out except us and one other party across the Gorge. Had the place to ourselves the rest of the afternoon. Hmmm. maybe the food wasn't that bad after all :)

Not an affishyanado of the fish taco.

Just an innocent question from a concerned citizen.

Overpriced, cliche-infested place, tourist trap.

Never go there and avoid the place......

I eat at the little park behind the school bring own food and so much nicer there.
