I noticed on the "Wah-Wah" thread Dr.Sprock mentioned some guitar gear knowledge and such, so i'm assuming he's a musician.
I also know Mike Paul was playing bass in a band on the Hard Rock video. Is he still jamming?
Are any other members here musician/climbers in bands? If so, how about posting a link of your band's website or myspace page.
I am the guitarist in a Los Angeles based instrumental band called Iron Mtn. Our songs are a sountrack to all things climbing/hiking/nature etc. We are like Sabbath meets Krautrock, Whillans meets Messner.
Here's a link to our myspace page:

The drummer and I are also doing a side project called The White Spider Project, a sort of homage to the elusive (defunct?) route on the Eiger.

Bluering just became my new bass player.
all we need is a drummer.... for people who like to dance...
actually, i hate playing loud music since my ears shut down after the first tune, and i get real nervous and have to drink.
so, i am un plugged at the moment, because everybody wants to be louder than everybody else, and nobody likes loud music anymore.

I'm in a band based out of Arroyo Grande, CA called Moonpie. We play an eclectic mix of originals and covers spanning rock, blues, and jazz in the most vague terms.

I think we will be doing some kind of tribute to JB in the near future. Hell, I would dig doing some kind of benefit for Tyrus too.
I do know a club in Glendale that would probably let me do it.
Would Moonpie be willing to drive down to play the show If I could set it up?
My wheels are turning.......

hey, does anybody have any tapes of him?
that would be cool, gather up some tape and burn a cd, sell it at supertopo, put the money into the Tyrus account?

I play lead guitar in a band with no name yet... we jam on Wednesday nights in downtown San Jose, have our first gig (all fun, no cash) in September. At the end of every night of practice, we've got big ol' grins on our faces :)
Classic rock from 60s to 90s-ish (Steve Miller Band, Credence Clearwater Revival, Marshal Tucker Band, Hendrix, Doors, Cream, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Wallflowers?, Cranberries?, Beatles, Bob Seger, Men At Work, some modern covers from bands I don't remember, and a few originals.
I'm looking for the same setup closer to my new home (Berkeley). I found a bass player/singer who likes similar stuff, now looking for a drummer.

hey there say all.... i remember hearing-tell of "way back when" when my brother mark (chappy)was in a band... timid tightrope mentioned some of it to me, also...
say, i play the spoons, and finger cymbles... and can coach dance lessons... my cats do a bit of the "cats meow" in five-part-vocal-harmony, and patty ann can "bark up a small non-threatening-storm"....
**course, i ain't a climber... but i can always chip-in from a nearby "low-laying-rock assorment" if i'm ever nearby an ol' campfire.... ;)
edit: do some piano, after "practicing..."
