Before I thought it was just a bad AI experiment for the heck of it.

Now I think it's a bad AI experiment designed to improve google search results for the customers of whoever created it.

They algorithmically generate garbage content using minimal feedback from the forum content itself, and plaster with links to their client sites. When people debate the gibberish or even reply "huh what?" then the weight of supertopo (or the other victim forums) in google searches lends credibility to the links embedded in the forum by B_E_S that point at the client sites.

In other words, we are being used to improve search engine results for other links completely unrelated to climbing. Beyond that, most of the pseudo-technical random mish-mash coming out is garbage. Occasionally entertaining, but now it's branching out into multiple threads and occupying page 1 real estate.

By the way, my last post in the longer B_E_S thread was a geek joke, utter nonsense (or calculatedly bad info mixing reality and fantasy) to mirror what B_E_S is spewing.
