A classic, Jim.

There is a rock in Snow Canyon called the Balkan Ridge with routes like Ledinski Declines and Goryenko's Triumph.

hey there all... say, wow--what can you say... whewww...

i can imagine the great joy though that the one brother had, when he actually FOUND his brother, and that he was alive...

wow...
when a "save" come, it sure is a time to step back and ponder, hearing of such survivals, as the shock of it all seems far worse than knowing that you at least have a rope...

thanks for the shares, all...

The '68 100k+ft 'fall' was with a parachute.

Name: Vesna Vulovic Place: Serbska Kamenice, Czechoslovakia Date: January 26, 1972 Length of fall: 33,300 Feet More: When a Yugoslav DC9 exploded in mid air, as a suspected result of a terrorist bombing, Vesna Vulovic plummeted over 33,000 feet to land on a snowy slope. Vesna Vulovic was paralyzed from the waist down, but later recovered and was able to walk. She was the only survivor and holds the record for the longest fall.

just forr the record james' fall was really two falls...sixty + ft. to the ledge at which point in amazement of his status as a living being, he sat up to lose his balance and pitch the rest of the way down 40+ ft.
