Lucky to have you, I'd say.

I miss my old boy when I read these threads, but love them anyway.

I don't know Kath, I miss mine every day and it's been 8 months.
Here's a great sequence with his buddy Caine, who misses him too.

Sandy will not be with us much longer but we aspire to emulate and celebrate her good cheer and grace in the time she has left,
the tail still beats strongly...

Lucky is recovering from his ulcerated colon. No more blood when he poops. The new anti-anxiety meds have yet to really kick in, but I think he will be OK. At least until we get on the ferry to Alaska. I hope the meds will be working by then. It will be a few months before our life settles down into a routine and he can be a happy dog once more.
Thank you for the kind thoughts.

I couldn't resist filming the lampradoodle getting out of bed this morning. His morning routine is to "go piddle." He was more groggy than usually about it, and (as you'll see) he's still figuring the whole thing out:

Before someone says it, no I wasn't stifling because I'd just done some lines. I drink coffee for a buzz. Good, dark, and strong fair-trade stuff, brewed and balanced with a stove-top espresso pot. Yuuuum... coffee... thread drift...

50 years of boxer-doggies:
Here's me and Heidi (1969)

Heidi in her prime:

Candie taking care of her baby Tyler

Candie grooming Haley

Becca as a pup

Nayla telling me to get off her couch space

Boxers are magnificent doggies, perfect with kids and babies, really smart, soul companions, and great protective beasts, but sadly, they rarely live past 10 years. All these shown are gone now.
