Clean climbing was vastly better than hanging out and banging in pitons. Good thing that it turned out to be easier to do thanks to the concerted efforts of a determined band of visionaries or things would be much uglier now.

At one of the Facelifts I heard Yosemite's super say how grateful the NPS is that we stopped using pitons. Need I say more?

You have plenty to be proud of in that regard Maestro as you were one of the principal principled drivers of the revolution. Without you guys the stone torture would never have stopped so rapidly.
