Well, since you're accusing me of making sh#t up, which is really convenient, since Philo deleted all of his posts, and since you obviously have NO CLUE WTF you are talking about, I humbly ask that you pipe down.

Philo most definitely accused Russ, MANY times. If you weren't there, real time, as they were being posted, you wouldn't know, as Philo got all Rokjox and started going back and editing all of his posts. Then he finally took the big plunge and deleted all of his posts and bailed.

Maybe. But I think threatening to call the feds on someone and adamantly claiming they've committed a crime, because the posted a picture, is pretty harsh. No matter what's going on in your life. Can't expect someone to not respond to that, now can ya?

The reason I started reading this site is to get good climbing stories/history from guys doing interesting things BITD.
I think philo has posted some really interesting climbing stories and is part of what makes this is a (sometimes) geat site.
Yeah, he's a bit nuts in some respects (just basing this on what he writes--no idea what he's like in real life).
But it seems like maybe he could get a "pass" regarding his strange behavior, especially if he is about to lose a leg, rather than getting cyberbullied.
Edit: Lovesgasoline--you and others who agree with you are tough nuts to crack, no doubt about it! Philo's stuff is *so* over the top that I can't believe anyone really takes is seriously (the thought that the FBI would care about this is comically absurd). I'm just preaching a little compassion to someone who is/was out there getting it done on the rocks.

Philo obviously has little or no computer knowledge. Otherwise he would not have said the nonsense he was trying to attribute per Russ's nuke bomb jpeg.
He was attributing all his past and present present computer/personal problems on Russ. He totally snapped.
Back your sh'it up. Here's the hard drives in my computer for your entertainment, rolls eyes.

Yes an over-reaction to be sure.
But I still maintain that if any wannabe anarchist feels its OK to nuke a thread because they don't like the topic discussed that it has a chilling effect on the discourse. I'd be less likely to make the effort to compose something if its just going to be nuked.
Am I way off here?

Majid nuked his original thread that started it all. It was a thread started by Majid about some fiber optic cable in the southern end of the Bay Area, right after Russ posted on a different thread ranting about off topic bullsh'it.
Russ came into Majid's thread and blasted Majid for starting the fiber optic sabotage thread. Russ was kinda bent at that point, LOL. It was kinda funny to watch.
Then a little later Russ throws jpeg files into majids thread. They loaded no problem for me, but the next day Kathy's (Blinny) older mac with a lot of applications open crashed most likely due to low resources/ram (memory).
Next zip crashed, then Karen and then Philo flipped at what happened to them.
Then world war three started .........
But Russ never nuked any threads. To nuke a thread you have to delete the thread by the op or by admin.

I am pretty certain that Russ did nuke a thread, if nuking means posting a gigantic picture. EDIT: Just saw you explanation Werner. .... It caused zip's computer to freeze and he lost some tax info that he was working on. Russ apologized and now him and Zip seem to be cool.
Philo on the other hand lost it and ranted a bit and then quit the taco stand. Personally I wish that he wouldn't quit, but I do understand the stress that he is under and figure a short break would be useful. ( If you don't know the stress that he is under, he is contemplating having is leg amputated because of an old climbing injury and his wife lost five family members in Gaza during the recent hostilities with Israel. )
I also think anyone who got worked up over what Philo said needs a checkup themselves. Russ certainly didn't get worked up. If you couldn't figure out that Philo has been a bit emotional lately and not completely rational because of the difficulties that he has been facing, then you must not be paying attention. Do you folks give up on friends who throw hissy fits on climbs when they are stressed to the max? I bet most of the time you don't and I bet everyone has at least one tale to tell, though I am certain that Russ and Werner have never thrown hissy fits. I don't think they would know how.
Sure, if the person is constantly throwing hissy fits you might want to cut the rope, but most of the time Philo has been cool and I bet that there are plenty of folks here who would rope up with him.
They just might want to avoid talking about Israel with him. :-)
Just messing with you Philo. Get your sense of humor and your sense of adventure back and come on back to the taco, because the taco certainly is an adventure and it needs a good sense of humor to handle it well and I know that you have these things, because I have seen them. For instance, I want to hear why it took you four months to be evacuated from Africa after you trashed your leg. Whats up with that? Come on man. Tell us the story. Did they toss you in jail with a pygmy lesbian hooker? What happened man? Inquiring minds want to know.

Yes that's true, but the original idea was presented/implied that Russ nuked a thread.
He couldn't nuke any threads ...... not possible. The whole thread has to be gone.
