Boulder Basin is such a beautiful place that my Daddy requested his ashes be scatted there (far, far from the boulder problems ~ !
South Ridge is such a beautiful place it is where my wife and I chose to get married.

that s ridge is a special place. really special. been hitting that place up since craig fry first published his bouldering book. never get sick of it. may take a sabbatical from time to time, but it is always great to go back.
and still, i can go there to get away from crowds... bullet hard granite; quality second to none.

Yes, I agree with Scott....... we ALL were very much inspired by Largo, Stonemasters, etal. We were standing on the shoulders of giants.

Yeah paul, It seemed the only way I could send that pile was after drinking a sixpak of old english, and a pile of the shit! sutton taught us alot. We always had a huge crash pad of beer cans / dead soldiers. Got a new handle, (scotte) SEE YA...

The gate was open last week. We had a weak storm roll through, so i don't know if it's still open. Even though the gate was open the Forest Service station in Idyllwild was saying it was closed. Come down Memorial weekend, there should be a "Boulder Bash." The yearly "opening weekend" party.

love the shot of s ridge. that little cove has a good handful of excellent problems. more pictures gosh darn it all. i want shots of fuller ridge. those will at least help me know where to aim when i take off into the brush.
I went up to black mountain yesterday because the place WAS open last time i went. black mountain is closed and the sign says it will remain closed until may 16th due to hazardous tree removal.
So we went to gv instead and climbed a pretty good climb. a little licheny and flakey, but a pile none the less. for a not so outta the way pile, it was great fun. from what i have been told, truth or fiction, there are a number of them all over "the hill." some better than others... of course.
