Now we’re at it I really have to mention my wife here:
She gave me a three weeks trip to the Valley as a 50-years present. Took care of our two small girls and all. I had been thinking of going since I did Mescalito in ’93, but the children put an end to dreams. Until she a year ago secretly persuaded my old partner to get in shape. So he did and half a year later he asked me to go.
I’ll vote for the parent-rating, though. And I realize that a climbing wall is as good training for El Cap as bike spinning is for Tour de France. (But OK, Bjarne Riis won the Tour in 1996 even though the highest point in Denmark is a 100’ gravel heap).

My girls will be teens after the next decade. They should definitely be able to drag me up some free El Cap routes!
