The related photos on the other thread, and the first hand documentation here, are the stuff of legend.

Any thoughts on that guy last night, Lynne? twice I thought I had it, but now I have no clue...

Jaybro, I've got a secret. I know the Dude's name. hehehe.

No driftin' on the DL Threads, Sir.

So, I'll just say I water ski and I have been quite a bit to Tenaya..but never was able to put the two together like those fun lovin' rascals. :D

Love these BITD threads with stories AND Pics.

Great story by Millis. He also was a prolific letter-writer, directing his talents at any newspaper editor in his region, and also to his friends. At his funeral, we could have read them for hours. Andy Carson observed that the LTEs would start out with reason, move to a slow boil, then explode like a Yellowstone geyser.
As for the 2 skiers, I picked them up hitchhiking up Teton Pass in about 1977 and they let me tag along as they paralleled down Chivers Ridge on woodies and 3 -pins. It was my first visit to what would become my home ski area. For the last 31 years, I've been trying to imitate their style, all within about a mile of that first run.

Barter n Card…the original fun-hogs! Thanks for chiming in Tom… it’s been a while for sure.

I still remember your guy’s account of this like it was yesterday. In fact to this day every time I drive it I wonder how you cleared the snow stakes, small trees and such. Truly inspiring, southern-engineering meets Goofy and Mickey. Thanks for all the hilarious times brother!

The fun-o-meter button, I gotta get me one of those!
