Have fun Ed. It was the longest route on Elephant and may still be. Most of it was really good and a great location. We were highly visible on it and were honked at continuously as we set up our porta-ledges in the bulge in the middle of the curvy seams. Probably the lowest elevation hanging bivy in Yosemite. On the "Don't rock the boat pitch" I mantled this rocking block which Cade who was below didn't like it too much. Cade led the flaring seam up higher with regular cams(only two cams making contact, offsets would make it easy). We both thought the other had the crux pitch. I don't know if we took pictures. I can't find any. Sir Loin?

Zander, I think it would be rude to ask Ken for any more information...

I wouldn't worry about the rating, you guys can handle it. It is mostly just hard work. If memory serves me right, you could aid anything over 5.8 or 5.9. The aid will be a grade or two easier with offset cams. Let me know when you are going up there and I will pull over and yell at you on the way up to work.

Ed, I am pretty hard to offend. I think it would be fun to climb with Zander. Have a good climb.

Ken

P.S. Take some pictures.

Ed and Zander, One piece of important info I just remembered. You should bring some wired rivet hangers, maybe 6 or 8. They should be short as the reaches will be long. I didn't want you to go through the effort and be lacking in that department. Hope you aren't on it yet. Have fun.

not on it yet, Ken, probably save it for the summer as we fill in the schedule.

Right now my lower back is complaining... but maybe we'll be up to play on Sunday.

Ed,

I have one of those backs that talk back to me. You should stop by for a visit and dinner sometime if you go through El Portal on your way home.
