I need a huge favor from 5 karma-hungry climbers. I need 5 people to serve on a "jury" for my "trial" for my appellate advocacy class. It's Saturday, 10AM-1:30PM, at 198 McAllister St., SF.
E-mail me (thetommy@gmail.com) if you think you can help out. I'm getting pretty desperate.
You'd be helping me out a lot. Buy you a beer if I see you at a bar, free belays from me anywhere.
Maybe I should add: Trial is for a bank robbery. 6 total witnesses, pretty short opening and closing statements.

"Buy you a beer if I see you at a bar, free belays from me anywhere"
3.5 hours of complete boredom for a beer or belay? Yer kidding right? There is no karma benefit to creating another Cal. attorney.
Nice pictures though.

about 8 photos up it is the famous puppy crack at Puppy Dome. That dead tree sticking out on the right is the one I saw a young lady fall off of. Hit a ledge down 15 ft and barely avoiding bouncing off to her death

nice one Atcha
heh
aren't juries supposed to be able to suspend their biases? Why are you asking for climbers?
smacks of jury tampering if you ask me. ;)

While there may be no karma to creating a new Cal attorney, there is one for helping a needy student!
I promise to make the 3.5 hours as enjoyable as possible.
The jury can be biased...whatever. I just need five people. They don't even have to be awake.
Bump!

The route at Josh looks like it's on Intersection Rock, left of Zig-Zag, right of Mike's Books.

I think since you didn't actually serve the whole way through on the first jury they can ask you again.
If you say you really hate violence and thieves and are likely to be biased, you will probably be released for cause.
However, I would stress that having a good, honest, non-biased jury is super important and what makes the whole system work. Most lawyers aim for good people who will look purely to the evidence, not their kneejerk reactions.
People may not like attorneys, but nearly everyone has the need for one at some point in their life, at least once.
Not all laywers are sniveling money grubbing corporate as#@&%es. Don't forget the Access Fund wouldn't exist without laywers.

We'll aid Beaver Street! I can get a ledge and we'll just chill halfway up the wall!

Next time give your shout out earlier. Would have loved to have an excuse to go north and given an early warning my schedule is flexible. Even have relatives to stay with. And I'm trying to dig up belayers even. Oh well, maybe I'll get good karma for wanting to help : )))

Bummer.. that's a crappy date.
You can always ask to have it rescheduled. I did that a few times. They kept scheduling me for times during the school semester.
On the other hand, attorneys and judges want to be there just as much as you do on that day. Trial could be postponed because no one wants to be there.
I'll be in Jtree that day. :)
