WiFi in jail, lol
i always assume anyone who is not drunk or does not smell bad at a gig like that is probably a cop, that approach always served me pretty well.
from what i read there were like 200 arrests and 250 charges brought, mostly drug possession and a few w/ a bit more of problem, out of some 75K people. i don't see what all the hub-ub is about, that's next to nothing. there is also all sorts of stuff about phish paying the cops- well so what? i bet it was a part of the use permit, sounds kinda standard. i am pretty f-ing sure the band didn't request a bunch of federal narcs to come work their gig...
lambone- call if you need bail bro!
(...just don't call me =)

YO! Nope, didn't get arrested.
I thought the cops were pretty mellow at the shows actualy. They were breaking up nitrous tanks afterward but that's the only 5.0 activity I saw. I think most of the busts occured late night in the hotels...
The show was sick.

Any of you fans catch the big show in Presque Isle Maine at a closed Air Force Base about 5 years ago? Project Bandaloop was hired with about 24 hours notice to dance off the coning tower during the "secret" midnight set. I got the call in El Portal and said, yes I could drop everything and make the airport that afternoon. It was a fun gig, we got a bit of quality time with Trey who was genuinely interested in matching the tunes to the aerial quality of movement. And we got to hang out on stage for the sound check. The set went off well, and I think the fans dug the dance.
I had never listened to them much but really was impressed with how down to earth the band members and crew were, and how much they seemed to care for the audience experience. People often compare them to the Dead, who I saw about 15 times in the 70's-80's. The audience of 75,000 baseball cap wearing east coast college kids was very different from Winterland however.
Rock on!

Peter,
Phish released a video of the event "IT," which shows the Bandaloop people on the tower during the late night set.
That must have been so fun! Glad you were involved!
"...how down to earth the band members and crew were, and how much they seemed to care for the audience experience."
Yup, that's what makes Phish the best touring band around.

I saw Phish play (of all places) Manchester NH this fall.
It was my 30th show and their 1500th show.
First time droppin' in a couple of years.
First set was sick, but the second set , Possum, Light, Mikes->Simple->Makisupa->Night Nurse>Makisupa, Wedge, Ghost->Mango->Wekapaugh, Llama, well, that was just disgustingly good!
Talk on tour after that was JUST HOW GOOD and tight they played that night. And on home turf!!!
I'm bumping it right now, what a great show!
You should download it, right now.
Edit; they played Ice and Mule first set too!

Saw a whole bunch of shows from 93 until the hiatus, surely >100 including that ending run at Shoreline.
Some very strong memories stand out...93 Roxy run in Atlanta, Fall 95 run in Atlanta at the Fox where I ushered one show with backstage/dressing room access and got to eat with the band before the show, had 3rd row center sitting next to Dave Schools of WSP another night on that run, and front row balcony another night.
Halloween 96, again Atlanta with the Remain in Light album cover 2nd set and a SICK 2001.
Red Rocks run in 96 with a Purple Rain cover as an electrical storm raged in the background, and then running to the cars after the encore to catch MMW at the Bluebird in Denver.
Stopping in some college town in KS to see MMW between the Phish RR and Deer Creek shows, and meeting the band on a deserted street, then seeing the show in a freakin' tiny bar with like 200 people. Chris Wood steps out of the bus, "hey you guys know where I can get some food?" "Uh, no man, we just drove in from Denver to see the show, never been here before. Fun show at the Bluebird the other night, we'll see ya tonight"
Bob Weir as special guest on stage at Shoreline COMPLETELY out of his depth and looking like he'd aged 20yrs in the last 5, and Trey kind of sneering and almost laughing at him.

calling trey clean is like placing a chicken bolt at the scary expando placement above all those hooks...
trey is not clean; his filth is magnificent whether it be heroin, lsd or misunderstood bliss.
his journey placed within my ears a story well told.
not one of those fellas is sober to the plain, they all gave away theirs eternal salvations because eternal salvation is a cop out for the cowards whom cant gain their own foot purchase against the sadness of existence.
they've color in their's song, phish. their scuttlings thru stir up verve and zeal.
hell i just tiptoed into the teeth of a sierra storm, weaving a sullen path between incessant snowflakes. i arrived at my strawberry cabin and lit a blazing wood fire, layed into an 18 pack of pabst.
then i joined phish at their vegas halloween show of '98. i sat there, me and the fire and beer cans all around and moved about the enjoyment of a
wolfman's - piper - ghost journey,
and i think all along that i am in love with her,
but really i just need some sleep, though i deny my forbidden eyelids their rightful rest and thus i marry into a confused garden of emotions.
but nothing is substantial among my fumblings thru.
