Forever my inspiration of strength and survival... not a day goes by that she is on my mind...

Peace, Leggs

Have a great weekend!

my dear makalu turns six,
this child is as durable as they come,
if a train were to run into her she'd call it a massage.

whats she so excieted upon?
the treasures in ma nature's purse.

meanwhile, as we've no power,
paps is cooking dinner in the woodstove.

then we attended our own dream,

as them kids grow all around im left standing unmoved though astounded
time's reference fades
and i cannot pray tell if what has happened is not the
exact same circumstance as all that might transpire.

im still in my being.
the world upon me is dynamic and explosive.
i feel a confluence of nevers upon me.
so im crooked a little,
shouldering all these pasts and futures.
the ponderables and the confusions (confusions echo)
consumate in me brain, and a reality is borne.
it is as though i am the now.
f*#kin cliche as it is,
littered with wee-passive voices.

not mine voice it was arrested long ago.
too many infractions upon infrastructures.
silence is my statement.

Our daughter Meaghan recently took a position teaching middle school math at the Denver School of Science and Technology. My wife and I took her out a few weeks back to help her look for apartments.

But first, we did a little X-C skiing with cousin Audrey outside the Indian Peaks Wilderness.

Then Meg and her mom performed an interpretive dance on-stage at Red Rocks.

Following the apartment search, we drove down to Colorado Springs.

Meaghan and Karol mug for the camera.

While in the springs, Meg had work to do. She was Co-Head Judge for the USA Climbing Adult Bouldering Nationals.

As soon as she wraps up teaching this year in Bridgeport, CT, Meg will drive out to Denver to begin teaching summer school and work on developing her lesson plans for the 2012/13 school year. The little brat actually beat us in moving out to Colorado.

Please, dear God, let our house in New Hampshire sell this year...

And of course I can't forget Maxwell, who is a Junior at UMass Amherst dual majoring in Sports Management and Communications.

He's quite a ladies man, thanks to lots of, um, "practice."

Veteran of 3 separate Alaska trips, including a 12 day raft trip down the Hula Hula river through ANWR to the Arctic Ocean at age 14.

And two summers ago during a 7 day boat tour of Glacier Bay in a 12 passenger ship.

Watching the Margorie Glacier calf into Glacier Bay.

And doing a front flip into the 40 degree waters of Idaho Inlet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZqAvToC17Y&list=UUd6agujy6oIs5Q5CbYGMB1g&index=11&feature=plcp
