The debate sponsors say the debates are going on.

IT would be GREAT for Obama to show up, unopposed, and answer questions.

This is one more huge mistake by McCain.

I can't believe anyone will still vote for McBush and his Cheney-esque VP choice after all the crap they are pulling and are yet to pull.

Tweedledum and Tweedledee would do better in the debates.

"The two are, no kidding, the biggest joke in election history."

Thats scary when you think about who got elected last time.
Could it happen again?
Scary I'm tellin ya.

On another note, maybe Biden could stand in for McCain.
Make for a pretty simple rebuttal. :-)

Word on the street says Joe is backing out and Hillary is stepping in. A classic trial balloon and it would be wild if they did that. Bill said publicly last week that 'she wasn't interested in being the VP.' She's eyeing '12 for sure and is banking on McCain to win and then be a one-termer.

Drama Queen: No convention today! ... OK, it's on! ... The economy's sound... No, wait, it's going to fall apart unless I go to Washington tomorrow! ... We need a commission! ... We need to fire somebody! ... Get me Andrew Cuomo! ... I want ten more debates! ... But let's postpone the one we've scheduled! ... Do you get the impression a McCain presidency would be a bit exhausting? ...

P.S.: Remember Tom Wolfe's description of a fighter pilot's decision-making protocol: "I've tried A! I've tried B! I've tried C! ..."

Anyone wonder what's up with his eye? Speculations of course are going crazy but... possible "minor stroke"? He cancelled an appearance on Letterman too.

You're not alone on the stroke concept.

First of all, the only reason anyone uses Obama's middle name is as a scare tactic to make him sound more like a Middle Eastern Muslim. So I'd certainly say it is a lame tactic by TGT.

Beyond that, while McCain has plenty of experience, he's not known for economic policy experience. He has admitted as much himself. He is not on any of the Senate committees that oversee this. So this kind of does look like a desparate grasp for him.

He sees himself slipping in polls over the economy and this is a gamble to make himself look more involved. However, it would appear that it may be a moot point as it's sounding like there may be a solution today.

Bells palsy on the left side of his face. He doesn't have forehead wrinkles because he can't lift his left eyebrow. He can't really smile on that side - sucks when you are trying to look friendly like Obama. That is what gives him that twisted look when he smiles. Takes a lot of little strokes to get results like that, wonder what other parts of his brain have been affected that 1 megapixel cameras can't pick up on.

Rocky Mt. News:

If Winston Churchill could leave London in December 1941 and travel to America to address a joint session of Congress even as British troops in the Far East were reeling under Japanese attacks, somehow we think John McCain can make his way down to Oxford, Miss., for a debate Friday evening without imperiling the future of America. In this case, Barack Obama is right.

My mom had bell's palsy.
She's 85 and has no problem jumping all over my 52 yr old sheeit whenever. It don't make you wimp out like McSame, his, wimp-gene, was pre-existing.

My inclination is to vote Barak, but mom is and she is a hardcore, Chicago Dem... What's an earnest young liberal to do?

"What's an earnest young liberal to do? "

Liberal says Democrat, at least to me. And no less of a luminary than Charles Barkley, "Sir Cumfrence", summed it up this way. "If you are a Democrat, and you are thinking about voting for Mcain, you are an IDIOT!"

Gotta admit, dude has a golden tongue.

So um....when exactly did McCain plan on suspending his campaign? I mean besides bailing on Letterman and threatening to do so for tomorrow's debate? He has kept right on keeping every one of his campaign obligations.

No, of course yesterday's grandstanding was not a different form of campaigning, it was leadership!

That's why McCain was wandering the halls, looking for something to do, and that's why Washington got something done yesterday.
