There's still snow left on the mountains on the north shore of Vancouver. Down to about 1,300 metres on the south side, probably lower on the north side. Going fast now that we have sustained sunny weather, but still quite late.

Good year to be a glacier around here. There aren't many such years any more.

funny story: that day me and my friend rode squaw, his ex gf shows up out of nowhere and throws down some drama of the "i can't believe you're already kicking it with another girl" variety. it was like, seriously? how did you even find us? what, were you scanning the mountain with high powered binocs? dude i would NEVER do that to someone, no matter how annoyed i was with some dude. why me??? it sucked at the time but it was also really pretty funny. he didn't warn me that he had a psycho ex girlfriend.

"why u gotta discriminate against the winter? "

Honestly...

1) Because climbing genarally sux in winter.

2) I don't ice-climb

3) I don't ski anymore even though I kick ass on skis (including cross-coutry skis...when did it become Nordic skiing?)

I really want to get back into skiing though, I just came into possesion of some early 80's era skis for free so I may get back into it this year and knock you down on the slopes.

H E L L O !!!

It's STILL summer...

Still some rocks to climb, fish to catch, sunburns to enjoy.

But I can suggest a comprimise: we can add 1 1/2 months to both winter and summer each, and just do away with spring and fall. They are mostly worthless anyway, since it's too cold to climb shirtless & swim in the river, and too warm to ski deep pow & hack your way up ice falls.

So when extended-summer is over, I'm ready for the COLD & WHITE!!!

Skied Mt Bachelor yesterday, opening day.

Was 3ft of fluffy dry powder over rocks and trees. Just enough! Only hit a few rocks and two many trees to count, but some friends has some real carnage.

Mt Ashland should open soon, this weekend hopefully.

I'm sore as hell and completely useless at work.
