Good climbing Thursday but totally a monsoon today. We're heading home. Showers will linger for a couple more days. Will post a few pics once I get home. Don't have the cable for the camera an we're on dial upp.

Back from the Boogaloo. See you next time Bruce, Emm, Ed, Mike, Jay, T Kingsbury and P Kingsbury.

Some nice fellows on Horns Mother. The leader did a fine job on this route. I'd be glad to get these pics to you fellows, wherever you are.

Run away! 3.5"s of water fell yesterday, just while we were in town! It might be a bad sign when Brutus, Emm and Los hermanos Kingsbury all split, and Dingus decides he should work on a saturday!

I don't know since when, Lugar, but coal creek does serve beer.

-Entered from advanced base camp, Fred's house in SLC, where he tapped the newest keg of home brew, just for us tonight.

Next year, mass ascent of ISMWWCI...

So, are no out-of-towners left? Does anybody know? I was thinking of going up this evening to climb on sunny Monday.

We didn't go. It's still cool and wet here - and given the weather we've seen online, it doesn't look any better there. We figure everyone had already bailed. Hopefully we can get outside here today...

Bruce went to retrieve his tent yesterday and called to say all had cleared out.
Thinking a mini Boogaloo is in order for this side of the divide.

Thanks, Rich. Too bad this one didn't work out a bit better. I was looking forward to seeing Ed, Jaybro, the Kingsbury's and other out-of-towners. There's a bbque or something going on in Golden on Aug 28th for the in-towners

Stitch - From MountainProject.com (that Other site).

Hello Denver Climbers,

We have our meeting set up for August. Denver Climbers Coalition will be BBQ'n at West Lions Park in Golden, CO. The address is 1300 10th Ave. Lions Park West is just 5 blocks west of the American Mountaineering Center in downtown Golden (Washington and 10th). Head west on 10th, Clear Creek runs on your left, you will pass the fire station, museum, library and ball feilds Maple Street is the parks east border, keep going to the middle of the park, then we will be on your right. Parking is along 10th street.

Some food and beer will be available to get the festivities started but please bring one or two of your favorite dishes to share. For the adults of legall drinking age, we have recieved our Open Container Permit. There are a few simple guidelines for this event. We can enjoy beer and wine (permit does not cover hard liquor). All beverages must be consumed in a plastic or metal container, no glass allowed.

Feel free to arrive any time after 5:00pm We will start the meeting section at 6:45-7:00, try to arrive early to allow grilling and eating. I will be there at 4:30 to claim our turf. At 9:00 we have to finish our beer and wine and remove it from the park, we can stay and mingle till the park closes. For permit control, it is helpful if you let me know how many people you are bringing. Email me at denverclimbers@yahoo.com .

I'm thinking today was probably a choice day at Vedauwoo, too bad I'm over a thousand miles away...

A great trip in several ways: it's something, when your friends from different eras become friends themselves.

Hadn't spent that much time with McGee and Bill in decades. An honor to be Ed's Dante into the rings of the vedauwoo social/historic abyss. On top of that, was, spectacular, idiosyncratic, climbing, a new route (even if a few moves remain to go free on lead), too bad the timing and weather didn't translate into wider fun and interaction for more people; there's always next year, everyone is welcome!

Great to meet you, Museums, hope to hang more and climb together later. Great to hang with you ever more Brutus and Em, the road keeps going, looking forward to more adventures in the future.

photos and narrative to come, on this or a separate thread.

I'm looking forward to your pics and tr. I guess my schedule wasn't such a bad draw considering the weather, although I'm sure you guys were a hoot just the same. I'm finding that I'm better at wide-crack socializing anyway. I hope to see yunz guys Friday. Maybe you should plan a slide show?
