Ken, With the sponsors who have donated prizes, do you send them a form letter, or do you personally contact them?

Would you like any of us to help you procure prizes for the raffle?

Bump. I told Lynne I'd do so, so she could see another facet of the wonderful wacky world of SuperTopo. Who knows, perhaps she'll grace us with her presence in September?

Edit: I guess the title should now say "Four Months to Go".

Is it too late to get a campsite during the face lift?

Mighty Hiker.....You are beyond cool! I did not know about this thread thank you for bumping! When I first joined ST you and Nita and several others so encouraged me to go for Facelift for a variety of very kind reasons. Basically cause you cared for someone finding a new way.

Well, I was impressed with you all. You Supertacos and Tacoettes are an awesome bunch so OF COURSE I did what you said.
I emailed Ken awhile back and I will be there (God willing of course) Sept.21-29. Wanted to get there early to help setup. I have campsite A&B in Yellow Pines.

Where is Yellow Pines? Like Nita, since I'll be there awhile can you give me a decoder ring to find a shower and an electrical outlet?

We should ALL for sure give any reimbursement back to YCA, for crying out loud, we were all going anyway, right on?

As far as differences.....they make the world go round. I am jazzed to meet EVERYBODY! I will make a disclaimer, I am a little shy in public. But I love a good party!!!!!!!!! and I love to work hard. Here's to the Facelift. Anything I can do to help I will. Lynnie will be rockin'.

Gotta have music! Everyone bring your stuff. I read some of you all do guitar, fiddle, sax, bring it on. We will celebrate.

Whoops! Almost forgot anyone that reads this must read Mike Grahams Thread, Ancient Gold, just posted. Must read, it is awesome. Read it.

Lynne, this thread has a map where yellowpine camground is.

Yellow Pines is about a mile and a half and the second left past El Cap
turnaround on Southside Drive. There is a small sign that will say
Sentinel Beach and Yellow Pines. It is just before the Four Mile Trail
so you need to watch carefully because if you miss it you will have to
drive back around the short one-way loop. Do you mind posting the
directions on Supertopo for me? I am running out of time.

It is also called the volunteer campsite.

I will work on finding out about showers. I think you can purchase them at curry village. Crimpie probably knows. Lots of people just sneak in. Don't tell anyone.

Lynne, I am also shy around people and big groups, we can be shy together:-) If you can - bring a bicycle, we can ride to the showers.

ps..everybody was super cool last year. Nature's SushiFest made the magic happen. He's a great guy..

edit, oh yeah.. one guy was crusty..

We can worry about details like exact directions to Yellow Pines, and to the various showers (at least two options, plus jumping in the river), when we get a bit closer to the FaceLift. I don't think they're going anywhere.

Maybe it would be fun to have a bit of a Valley tour (NOT on the green dragon) at the start of the FaceLift, for SuperTopians who haven't been there before.

Important to mention that all camping has to be coordinated through Chicken Skinner aka Ken, of the YCA, to keep things manageable.

The general philosophy seems to be all work and no play makes FaceLift less fun. Though some work astonishingly hard, and everybody helps in some way or other.

Mighty Hiker and Moosie, "The Boss" (I think we should call Mr. Ken that, like Bruce Springsteen)offered me a place at camp 4. I was tempted to take it just for the --------of it.

But Camp 4 MUST be just as hardcore, all night crazy as it was years ago right? LRL

Hi Nita,

I have not put together a letter yet for raffle prizes. It would be great if you want to find some. I have several companies that donate every year and will be contacting them soon.

Jay and anyone else that needs camping. I need to know for which nights and for how many. I still have some camping left in Yellow Pines from September 22-28. I sign people up in the order that I receive emails. There is camping available in Camp 4 September 24-28.

Here is the map to Yellow Pines. Showers can be had at Curry Village.

Ken, If you email me the letter, I will contact local company- klean Kanteen, and ask for a donation or two. Do you display products at the FaceLift table, I don't remember?

Also let's - work out ways to not drive so much.
......Ideas anyone?...........

Maybe- sign up in morning at yellow pines /camp 4, instead of Village? Don't know if that would work?

At my local park clean up, we leave bags on the sides of the road, trucks, and bikes with trailers pick up the bags of trash.... write name on bags??? (OOPS..forgot about Bears!)I guess that idea sucks....

just thinking out loud..
