I watched the Last Waltz for somewhere near the 1000th time it seems. Some really good performances, caught by a great cinematographer. Despite Robbie's overzealous control in editing it is a masterpiece. (I still can't swallow that pitiful audio from the cd you posted zb.)

A few of my favorites:

The Band ≈ Don't Do It
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feEBEpDLTKI

The Band ≈ It Makes No Difference
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rP7r12Rg490

The Band ≈ The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOi0tC00Luc

The Band with Bob Dylan ≈ Forever Young

The Band & Bob Dylan ≈ Baby Let Me Follow You Down

In the books about The Band, it is mentioned that Bob would never commit to playing that night and he didn't elaborate on what songs he wanted to play, until he hit the stage. The transition from Forever Young to Baby Let Me Follow You Down was totally improvised, true to Dylan's nature.

Hey Tobia - my 'best' Last Waltz - The Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood when it first came out. Second (after traipsing through VHS, Laserdisc, computer files, DVD) is Blu Ray. Would like to see it in a theatre again.
