whoa, dude, I can't believe your dog built that.

isn't that the ruin in which they found something like 10 native skeletons with their heads/skulls removed/missing/desecrated? craig childs' stuff on that area gives me the creeps!

"A Dog's Life," indeed. I named the thread thinking of Jack, and it's opened to embrace so many other wonderful doggie lives too.

I remember right after Skadi crossed The Rainbow Bridge, she came to me in a dream and asked me to send her joint medicine to Jack so he could run free in the woods. She was like that, always sharin' her magic!

Now they're together goin' fwimmy and runnin' free in the woods. . . waiting for us to join them!

PEACE!

Truly special dogs are gifts to a select few. My thoughts are with you, Chiloe, as you mourn the loss of your magnificent friend. May he live with you forever in your heart.

Cheers,

Do any of you feed your pups a raw meat diet?

My boarder is a pet nutritionist, and he's a big proponent of raw meat diets for dogs. His rationale is based on (in part) the fact that dogs are truly and genetically carnivores, and their digestive system (and mouths/teeth) are designed for meat diets. Further, while dogs have been domesticated for thousands of years, commercial foods have only been around for about ~150 years. He posits that many typical dog ailments are related to the large amounts of grain in typical commercial dog foods.

One may consider his view biased because he also prepares & sells a raw meat food product for dogs, but one also may see this as an outgrowth of a strong belief that he holds. In any case, I've been aware of this for some time, and the raw meat proponent's arguments make a fair amount of intuitive sense.

If you feed your dog(s) such a diet, what benefits or effects have you observed? Have you seen any illnesses in your dog(s) that seemed likely to be related to that diet?

What is the source of your food? The content?
