I'll ask again, is Chiloe on a dialup?

No, he's got a nice fast connection. Even so, when he searches it takes more time than he likes to load the entire thread in one chunk, and that end result is no help whatsoever in finding a picture of happy climber X.

Well, it could be considered a bug for safari to be sucking down that much memory to load that page, even if it is huge. Edge cases like that always make for great test cases.

Took me 1 minute with auto image loading off, and another 15 seconds to find the person I wanted, then rightclick on pic link to display.

Thats about 4x faster than my dsl line.

About 90 secs on my old dell with Mozilla Firefox and automatic loading of images off. (FIOS)

The real question is why are people still using that thread?

Don't think the 5MB will help much more, as 120MB should have loaded in 40 seconds, so the bottleneck for you is out on the net.

But if your neighbors are sharing your line, which is likely with cable,then the 5mb will help. (but then the cable co will just put more people on the same line)
