If nothing else, we ought to have a toast in honour of lost and absent friends at the FaceLift. Although it sounds like we'll be camped in two locations this year, hopefully we'll all be together for a BBQ and fun, and a few memories, one evening.

does life go and die cause a craziness.
It's meant to be lived, loved and forgived.
It's meant to be wild and lived in style.

2007 was "Bongo Bonanza" where we pissed off the Yosemite Fund.

2008 was the year of "Guitar Wars" where we seriously annoyed BOTH the CCC and our delightful banker volunteers from Wells Fargo!

I'm thinking for 2009 we go with a one hundred person Synchronized Kazoo Marching Band - just think who we could piss off with this one!!!

Perhaps jstan will lead the march, with his bagpipes. And if the infamous Yosemite Marching Band was involved...

Once when I was about three feet tall my dad informed me we needed an eighty yard long ditch dug four feet deep to get below frost line, I know how tall I was because I could not see out over the top of that ditch for a good long time. I learned something.

I learned when you have a big job the first thing you need to do is get your priorities in order. Long and tough jobs just mean you get huge satisfaction when you complete it.

We are undertaking a really huge and important job in Yosemite. We can finish it and be really pleased with what we have accomplished.

Or we can be confused and settle for something small.

Hello everybody,

I have finished with the Granite Frontiers exhibit and will now focus on the Facelift. Those of you that have requested camping will have it. I put everyone's email in a folder and I will answer in the order received. Bear with me, it has been a busy time for me.

Yeah, it's been a real bummer year in the climbing realm, I was thinking about blowing it off this year but hangin' with y'all is inspirational.

We'll have to raise glasses to our friends that have gone.

Maybe we'll write a song for our friends that climb in the heavens now.

when is the gathering this year? I miss the valley and could use a dose of granite.

Kurt,

It is September 23 - 27. It would be good to see you again. Maybe I could talk you into doing a show.

Kurt,

Hit the nail on the head, a dose of granite would do any climber a world of good.
Especially one thats been out of the area for a while.

Ken,

Hit the nail on the head also, a slide show from an Ol' Valley regular would be great.

Of course I'm in for the kazoo parade. But only if I can camp @ Yellow Pines. Thanks Ricky D for giving me some headliner on the bongo fiasco, but in reality that stuff was pretty tame compared to 'ranger tongue lashing!'. Apparently with all we did to make a ruckus some no name outsiders upstaged us and really pi$$ed off NPS. Go figure. I'd like to make this years facelift again. Pick up trash with my comrades. I'm not sure I'll be allowed to camp in yellow pines though because I cannot get to sleep before 9:00 p.m.

Perhaps you are wondering why all your favorite posters are not responding. I think they are all here. All I have to say is awesome! And thank you! That sushi is going to taste good.

Perhaps we should wear paisley for the morning parade. It would add a certain je ne sais quoi to the proceedings.

jstan may, of course, wear a suitable tartan, and the YMB may dress in its uniforms.

"Facelift Cancelled Due To Lack Of Trash !!!!!!!!!!! "

Not to worry, Ken and I will get some truckloads of trash for people to find, just like an easter egg hunt. We can't let this problem get fixed or no more fun cleaning up trash
