Another problem with U.S soccer is the stupid club team thing that focuses on creating good teams instead of player development. Mostly for the benefit of the coaches and parents.

And what about Alexis? That man runs up and down the field like
a demon, on defense and offense. And he's not too bad with
free kick's either.

32% possession and no shots. I did not expect the US to win, but they did not look prepared. K-mann said they gave Argentina to much respect. Isn't it his job to fix that?

The first two goals were just unstoppable, brilliant plays and nothing to be ashamed of. The last two were the result of 90 minutes of sloppy ball control and piss poor passing. We couldn't create space and we're actually tripping over ourselves by the end of the match. What a terrible way to end a run for the championship.

What are you gonna tell a 12 year old kid as you throw him in a cage with
a tiger that hasn't eaten in a week? "Pay attention and check yer six!"

Los Gauchos completed over 90% of their passes? Are you kidding me?

At least go down swinging. Playing scared is not a a strategy.

Problem was the US Team had no plan. This was the first time the USMNT has lost to a #1 by greater than 1 point. Typically we bunker down and hope to hang on. Under Kinsman we neither bunkered down or put a team on the field that was fast enough to break down Argentina's defense which is not known for its speed. Klinsman is worse than Sampson.

We have the players what we lack is a good coach.

I hope you are joking. Cause that is very laughable.

We have the players

We do? I don't see their names on the rolls of Barsa, Bayern, AC Milan, or Leicester.
The only world-class players we've ever produced have been goalies.

And how about that Iceland going undefeated through their group?
The whole damn country has the population of Pasadena!

It was sad to watch Argentina and Messi lose yesterday. Oh well, maybe next time (though Messi says he's finished with the Argentine National Team).

In today's news, Italy handed Spain a walloping--their tactics were superb, and they had a one goal lead that Spain never seemed to be able to threaten, and then they scored again just before the end to win 2-0.
And how about Iceland, defeating England 2-1? Not just Brexit, but futbolexit!

One comment I have heard is that Italy is looking more and more like Italy, and that is no good sign for the other teams...

Belgium has been outstanding...

And it's only to congratulate Iceland with their murder of the impossible... they can do it again...

Leicester. Iceland. Wales.

Brilliant for underdogs!

And that was a very entertaining game today. Both teams going for it.

Too bad about that Ramsey yellow. It was very soft to rule him out of the next game. And you could argue that he's been very close to the tournament MVP so far.

Man I wish they would re-broadcast the Belgium/Wales game. I know the result, and I still want to watch it. Work. Definitely rooting for Wales in the next round, for all the good that will do.

I love it that Italy is playing almost beautiful football.

Iceland/France is a tough one for me. I have to root for Iceland, but with mixed allegiances.

Shoot. Poland almost did it. Sorry Moosedrool, if you're out there.

The commentators bug me.I'm liking the game, though.

(ouch, Ballack and Martinez don't agree with me)

HMOG, what a weird end, and it's not over yet.
